Description of 1928 Ford Model A model a roadster |
1928 Ford Roadster bomber What i have here today is a 1928 ford roadster with a true aviation theme. It has hundreds if not thousands of rivets. lots of aluminum panels. also has a b17 oxygen tank that has been converted to a fuel tank. It is a real head turner. The car runs down the road nice and cool. The temp never gets over 170 and that's when its 95 out. My wife drives it with my daughter in a car seat hooked up threw the aviation seat belts. The seat is dirty since it has been driven. The seat cover is just a army surplus cloth and could be simply recovered or left as is. I liked the fact that it looked as if someone used it not a show car. The paint and body isn't perfect but like i said was built to be driven. The engine and transmission are set up high so they are above the frame and out of danger(i live down a dirt road). The frame was built to mimic a 1932 ford frame as it flows with the body and tapers up in the front. The frame was also built to accept a full exhaust. The gauges are nos Stewart Warner and the speedometer only has a couple of miles on it. I Have some of the original boxes. The doors open and shut amazingly well. They click shut and click open with ease. The steering wheel is a quick release. Any questions give me a call 619 212 5601. If I don't answer please leave a message and ill call you back.
