Description of 1965 Ford Mustang --

When Ford introduced the Ford Mustang in 1964 an instant love affair with the American Pony Car was born. The Mustang was smaller, lighter, and more nimble that any American manufacturer had produced thus far. This coupled with its fresh design, the Ford Mustang became a must have among the American public. Carroll Shelby was a good friend of Ford Motor Co. and his company, Shelby American would soon gain worldwide acclaim with their modified Mustangs and Shelby Cobras. The... 1965 GT350 was based on the standard Mustang GT but featured a whole host of upgrades. Less than 600 GT350 were produced in 1965 and they fetch high prices today making them popular for reproduction. GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this very excellent GT350 replica for your consideration. Original a Honey Gold GT sold new in California, this car has been completely restored and converted into a GT350 replica over the course of the owners 37 year ownership. It originally had a chassis code of 5 R 09 A 210075 63A C 26 13R 72 A 5. The car was repainted in authentic Wimbledon White with Guardsmen Blue stripes and all of the body panels are original to the car and numbers matching. It features a rebuilt and bored 289cid V8 with a whole host of upgraded parts. Edelbrock High Rise intake, Edelbrock 4bbl carb, Hooker Headers, larger radiator, Comp Cams, and Harlan Rocker arms are just some of the modifications. Other features include a Tremec T-5 5-speed manual transmission, rebuilt steering box, 15x7in and 15x8in Minilite alloy wheels, KYB Gas a just shocks, electric cooling fan, rebalanced driveshaft, SSB disc brake kit, LED tail lights, lowered suspension, and new wiring harness are other mechanical changes. During its conversion to a Gt350, nearly everything was redone to a high standard and as many OEM and Shelby specific parts were used when available. Everything from the gauges to the emblems were carefully restored and upgraded. Some of the highlights included a Shelby hood, Mach 1 seats, Shelby gauges, rear seat delete shelf, Shelby Valve covers, and a competition seats belts. The current owner has put tons of time and money into this built and the result as one of the best replicas you can find. The car drives excellent and is arguably set up better than the original was. There is a huge list of upgrades and just a few were listed here. You will not be disappointed by this excellent example of a famous car!
