Description of 1966 Ford Galaxie custom |
Here is Black sleeping beauty, barn fine!! Been stored away for years.. Examine pics as that is main part of description... Looks pretty much original excluding all the dents!3 speed shifter on column is in tact. Far as I know motor is stuck, previous owner said he put oils down plug holes and could not get it to move, I have not tried. Odometer shows about 66,000 miles, could be actual judging by the front seat, but for some reason title is marked "exempt". Previous owner said he bought it 15 years ago at an estate sale with most of the dents and stored it away to fix someday.. He put mothballs in there to keep mice away, so the smell is present..Front windshield and drivers side glass broken and roof dent is damaged from his grandchildren being bad! Some mouse damage, especially to rear seat. I don't know if this is a Galaxie 500, quarter panel shows "custom" and thetitle's model description reads "53" and I do not know if it was a "custom 500" either... It is a 2 door sedan, pretty much a base model with radio delete dash. It will need much work to get it going...Besides the left front tire flat, which will hold air long enough to get on trailer, it does roll.. Make it a sleeper or a ratrod, restore or use for parts... Sold as is, no reserve and buyer is responsible for picking up in a reasonable time and $100.00 deposit after auction ends...... Located in Elmore, Ohio zip code 43416, about 15 mins southeast of Toledo.. Any questions, Please call afternoons and evenings at 567-249-4221, no texts please, land line.. PLEASE Note: I had to post mileage to get this auction going, but as stated, title states exempt where mileage would be, so mileage is not known..... On Aug-13-18 at 09:14:25 PDT, seller added the following information: I had a question from a ebayer about this car and wanted to post his inquiry and it did not post, so I will add it here.. It is as follows: Would you consider posting a photo of the dataplate on the drivers door? I saw in your description that you were having some problems determining the exact identification of your car. I can help you with that. I'm the manager of the 1966 Ford Full-size Registry (https://www.facebook.com/groups/606662076068850/), and I'd like to add your car. The Registry is up to over 7200 '66 full-size Fords. If you post the dataplate, I can give you car's decode description, which you would be welcome to use in your eBay ad description. Thank you Second email is as follows: Thank you for posting the dataplate for your car. Your car is new to the 1966 Ford Full-Size Registry, and I entered it as Registry Number 7229. Here is the description based on the codes - The vehicle model is the Custom 2-door sedan with bench seat. It was Ford number 158990 built at the Chicago, Illinois assembly plant during the 1966 model year (first was 100001). As built, the engine was a 240-1V Big Six I-6 (150 hp@4000 rpm, 234 ft-lbs@2200 rpm, 9.2:1 compression ratio), backed by the Toploader 3-speed manual transmission with column shift, and driving through a 3.00:1 non-locking differential. It was finished with the Raven Black exterior color, and the interior trim was parchment Crinkle vinyl and parchment Key pattern cloth. It had a scheduled build date of June 7, 1966, and the order was processed through the Detroit, Michigan district sales office, which covered southeastern MI and northwestern OH. Good luck selling your car. There are not very many 2-door sedans surviving. On Aug-15-18 at 08:34:20 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: Please Note Again.. I went to title office Monday to put title in my name.. They told me I needed to put mileage in the box on the back of the title.. I received the title back and now it reads 66,070 actual miles.. I do not know for sure and previous owner does not know if speedometer works as he never had it running/driving to find out.. I am thinking this car went through probate court from when the previous owner bought it from the estate.. I told the title office that and they returned the title with the actual mileage listed.. Also, If you want, you may come and make an inspection of the car if desired by appointment.. Thank you, Paul |
