No expense was spared when restoring this classic piece of Americana into a show stopper. This patrol car has been a labor of love in which it has been turned into a successful business venture. My Mayberry Ride has been featured in Newscasts on the internet as well as news casts all over the country and in newspapers and magazines. We have been invited to display and drive our patrol car in events all over. Just to name a few: Ohio State Sheriff’s Convention. Bluegrass conventions. Local Sheriff Re-election Campaign. Ohio University Homecoming Parade Grand Marshall car for Richard O. Linke (Andy Griffith’s Manager and executive Producer of The Andy Griffith Show. ). Many Mayberry Events and Mayberry Parades. and Parades all over the Midwest. Many of the cast from the Andy Griffith Show have either been in or have ridden in our patrol car for parades or special events. There are currently 36 autographs on the sunvisors! Don Knotts (Barney Fife). Jim Nabors (Gomer). George Lindsey (Goober) are just a few of the Mayberry Greats signed! Some other fun stuff in the car is a DVD PLAYER…. your guests can watch their favorite episode while on patrol! The Beacon Light on the car works perfect and is in perfect NOS condition which can be operated from a switch on the dash. Also there is a CB System where you can key up your mic and arrest someone with one of the loudspeakers that is located on the firewall under the hood. You can also loop the Andy Griffith Show whistling Theme Song to another speaker that is located on the firewall. This way you can enjoy your ride and not have to listen to the song in the car while you are in a parade. The speakers are very loud!!!!!!! Also you can enjoy your ride in modern day comfort because we have installed a CLASSIC AUTO AIR conditioning system that looks original to the period and car. It’s real cold air!!!! Back in 2009. Barrett Jackson auctioned off a Mayberry Patrol car that had one autograph on it; Don Knotts had signed the door. After the hammer went down the car sold for $121. 00. 00. It was one of the nicest replicas sold to date at a big auction. Before the car sold I had seen it several times………. and I must say. The business opportunities are endless………. we have used the car as a high end chauffeur car catering to weddings. anniversaries. birthdays. evenings out to dinner or to a winery. ABOUT THE RESTORATION: During the past year and a half the 352 V8 engine has been rebuilt and changed from a 2 barrel carburetor to a 4 barrel carburetor with an Edelbrock Intake. New Valve Cover Gaskets. The Headers were Ceramic Coated. A New High Performance Aluminum Radiator has been installed. New polished chromed power brake booster installed. Entire Front End and Engine Compartment disassembled. painted. and put back together. Every screw. nut. and bolt was removed all the way down to the frame. The frame was then painted in hot rod black. There is less than a few hundred miles on the car since the engine rebuild and restoration. The entire car was painted in base coat clear coat. The paint job is incredible!!!!! There is not one ding. dent. or imperfection on the car body. We also recently replaced the Front GRILL with a NOS (New Old Stock) Grill that is of show quality. It basically set on a ford collector's shelf for 50 years until we installed this summer. All of the TRIM PIECES have been sorted and are high quality. The car has all of its original metal with no bondo. It has DUAL Exhaust which is new. Brand New White Wall Tires were installed with currently less than 200 miles on them. the wheels were professionally powder coated and are 15 inch wheels and includes a spare. The power steering unit was rebuilt this summer as well. The transmission was rebuilt several years ago also. The interior has been professionally painted including the dash. There is a new dash pad installed as well. The car seats were professionally replaced 4 years ago by a classic car upholstery guy. Seat belts were installed for safety. New Headliner. new door rubber seals and felt throughout on doors. etc. The exterior door handles and exterior roof sail panels were re-chromed this summer. The front windshield has been replaced because we wanted some UV protection. I do have the original windshield that is in perfect shape. I also have a spare rear windshield as well as many other miscellaneous parts that will go to the new owner! The ball joints have all been replaced as well as the shocks and leaf springs. The gas tank was replaced with a new one as well as the sending unit. THIS CAR HAS BEEN COMPLETELY GONE OVER! The entire engine was rebuilt about 5 years ago and the engine has about 6 thousand miles on it from that rebuild. THe engine was rebuilt again this past year and only has about 200 miles on it since then. The car has 143. 41 original miles on it. The original Sheriff Mayberry Star on the doors was professionally done by a painter and GOLD LEAF was used for the stars to give it an incredible look! 24 CARAT GOLD LEAF Was used on the Door Decals!!!!!
