Description of 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 |
This is a chance for a piece of history that turns heads everywhere you go. Even when it is parked, it gathers attention. It is a very photogenic vehicle. It gathers more pictures than some of the nicest, cleanest cars I have ever seen at car shows. People just love it! I have used it as a parade vehicle the last 2 summers. Turn on the cherry on the top and give the siren a spin, and they love it! This is one of those classic storybook vehicles that you hear so often. It was sitting in a barn, completely untouched from it's original condition for almost 15 years. There was a little carburetor work done so it was in the trunk. After replacing the rotten heater hoses and fuel hoses, along with the distributor cap, points and condenser, she fired right up. That's the history of what I know about the drive train. It starts great, idles decent, accelerates well, the automatic transmission seems to shift great. This is my first car I have sold on Ebay. I realize that not being near the vehicle is difficult for many buyers, so I will facilitate any inspection you would like to set up to see the vehicle on your behalf. I do not want any bad ratings for misrepresenting this vehicle or it's condition. I will also be available to discuss. Leave a number to call, and I will return the call as promptly as possible. I will tell you all that I know. Now, for more about the condition of this classic 1960's era car; The interior is 99% original. There are some stains and fabric deteriorating from age, (mostly at the tops of the rear seat). There is wear on the arm rests, especially the drivers door rest, wear it has worn through. The glass seems to be all original, including the front windshield, although I am not certain on that. All lights and lenses are in decent shape and seem fully functional, with the exception of the rear bumper and light as well as the lower trim on the front bumper lights. The chrome is pretty darn exceptional for the age and is all original condition as well. Very limited pitting, especially on the trim pieces. The engine, as stated earlier seems to run just fine, no misses. It does have what sounds like a lifter tick, just one. Because of that, I had decided to keep it original, since it does not miss at all, maybe a collapsed lifter? Tires are pretty decent shape. Were replaced a few years back. All the hubcaps are original as well as the wheels. Once again, this is not a restored car, it was a modified 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 that turns heads everywhere it goes. The paint, including the door jambs and under the hood and the deck lid, is about 2.5 years old. Buyers Please note, I want to make sure that you are absolutely satisfied with your purchase. Remember, this vehicle is from the 1960's, and even though I've tried my best to describe it, it can have some imperfections which I'm not aware of. I'm saying this because I've had a bad experience with a ruthless dealer that tried to extort money from me after the car was inspected and delivered!
