EXCELLENT 1988 FORD THUNDERBIRD T'BIRD MODERN-DAY CLASSIC WITH LOW MILEAGE EXTREMELY NICE AND HARD TO FIND MODERN-DAY CLASSIC 1988 FORD THUNDERBIRD. LAST AND MOST REFINED YEAR FOR THE FAMED 9th-GENERATION T'BIRDS. VERY WELL-CARED FOR WITH LOW LOW MILEAGE! PLEASE NOTE: To present this car in a very comprehensive manner. over 100 images have been provided. The first 8 will give an excellent general overall look at the car from many vantage points. The remaining sets of images show all areas of the car in great detail. and are intended for serious buyers. Ford invested substantially in 1983 for dramatic updating of its FOX platform that was the basis for the introduction of the 9th-Generation Thunderbird. So good was this modernized platform. that it also was the basis for introduction of Lincoln's Mark VII which went on to be declared by Car & Driver as one of the "10 Best" cars in the world. For the Thunderbird. 1988 is generally regarded as "the year to have" from that 9th-Generation. as it was that generation's final year. with the advantage of six years of refinement. ORIGINAL & LOW MILEAGE. due to the very high cost of restoration for 1980s cars. the ONLY cost-effective way to invest in modern-day classics from this era is to find the very best original and low mileage example possible. This car fits the bill nicely. With an average of only about 2. 00 miles of driving per year. the interior is still fresh in appearance. Undercarriage and engine compartment are also impressive. LOCATION: The car is located in Cumming. GA. a suburb approximately 30 miles north of Atlanta. DRIVE REPORT & OPERATIONALS. the engine and transmission are smooth and quiet in their operation. The car drives much more like a late model than anything you'd expect for a 27 year-old car. Power windows. power seat (forward and backward). and radio all work great. as does the AC system. There is a convenient trip odometer. as well as a speed minder feature that alerts the driver if a pre-selected speed is exceeded. As would be expected with a 27-year old car. there are a few minor items that the new owner may want to address. the following are the only non-operational items that we discovered. but it is always possible that there are others that were not noticed: No power door-locks. left mirror has 2 working directions of function out of 4. as does the right-hand mirror. front power tilt feature works. but the rear power tilt is erratic.
