Description of 1965 Ford Mustang 2 door C-Code Coupe |
1965 Ford Mustang - 289V8/ 220+ Hp - C4 Automatic - Total Restoration I am selling this beautiful Mustang for my friend Dianne who is 71 years of age. Dianne and her deceased husband hada total frame off ground up restoration completed in 2006 so she could drive it to car shows in Arizona where they lived at the time. He had a restored Chevelle SS that he drove to car shows. The car was originally Wimbledon white and was in very nice original condition with no signs of rust or accident damage and approximately 87k miles before rebuild. It was originally built in the San Jose California Ford plant and has always been an Arizona car. It has never been raced, hot rodded, or abused in any way and has always been garage kept under a cover and always well maintained. Everything was either replaced or rebuilt to the highest standard including the engine and transmission. I have all the original built sheets, parts list, and receipts for the restoration. However the engine(rebuild cost $4550) and transmission rebuilds were contracted out to Frontier Machine & Racing Engines and I do not have the build sheets for them but I do have a list of new parts for the transmission. There are too many build sheets to display but if you would like a copy I can email them to you. There are no signs of rust or accident damage anywhere. It starts, runs, shifts, steers, and brakes perfect and it has cold air conditioning. It runs at 180 degrees and 190 degrees with air conditioner on, and 57 lbs. of oil pressure. It has a mild cam so it has a nice lope at idle and the exhaust has a nice mellow sound but is not loud or distracting inside. All of the gauges, switches, and controls for the lights, heater and air conditioner work properly as they should. The "one negative" is that the paint shows signs of a few tiny scattered bubbles(see photos) that have started to appear mostly on the top surfaces of the top, cowl panel, trunk, A pillars, and top of the doors, and there are 2 larger bubbles above the gutter on the passenger side of the roof(see photo), however, the color of the paint is excellent with no fading, and even with the tiny bubbles it has won several first place plaques and trophies. The total restoration not including the cost of the car was $35,585(see photo of receipt). After the restoration was completed it was appraised by J.J. Best Banc & Company to be in immaculate condition and valued at $52,300. They stated that it was a perfect restoration and concours quality. A copy of the full appraisal will be provided(see photo). The following is the information on the restoration shop, engine and transmission rebuilder, followed by a list of the major parts and components that were installed: Restoration shop: Mustang Mart(under new ownership since restoration) It was Arizona Muscle Mart 429 S. 35th Ave. Phoenix, AZ. 85009 Engine Rebuilder: Frontier Machine & Racing Engines(no longer in business) 2009 E. Tonopah Phoenix, Az. 85009 List of "major" new parts installed: * Paint - PPG Reef Blue - DRC4428 with very obscure ghost stripes from the back of the door opening to the rear bumper. Complete body undercoating.* Transmission - 2800 stall speed torque converter, Hi-temperature clutches, 123 shift kit, flex plate.* 2 - Holley 4 Barrel 390cfm carburetors and manifold are included but were replaced with a new Edelbrock manifold & one 390cfm carburetor that is on it now because Dianne didn't like the added power and gas consumption.* Radiator - 3 row Ho, Perma-Cool 16" 2950cfm electric fan with a thermostat, water pump, belts and hoses.* Windshield, gas tank, fuel pump, and dual exhaust with Chrome TRI-Y chrome headers, electronic ignition.* Air conditioning - New compressor, condenser, dryer, filter, and hoses. New gas gauge and sending unit.* Power steering pump and hoses, rebuilt suspension, new shocks, master cylinder, front disc, calipers, and pads, rear brake drums, rebuild kit, shoes, and parking brake assembly.* New chrome bumpers, 4 - 14" x 6" Tork Thrust wheels, 4 Hercules 205 x 70 x 14" tires(85% tread remaining), dual exterior mirrors. * New blue and white Pony interior, door panels, carpet, insulation, paint, seat belts, headliner, and sun visors.* Wood grain sports steering wheel, Rally-Pac tach & clock(both work), Stewart-Warner chrome oil & temp gauges, USA 15B stereo radio w/cassette and new dual cone front and rear speakers.* Canvas car cover and 1965 Mustang repair manual.* There are so many other new parts that were installed that are listed on the build sheets and parts list. Everything on this car works as it should and other than the paint flaws I don't know of any defects, problems, or anything that would take away from it's use or value. Dianne has always let me drive to the car shows for the 6 years that she has lived in Texas and I assure you that it is a very nice well running car that she has been very proud to own and show. I'm 74 years of age and a very safe and responsible driver. I have my own classic car and we traded off which car we took to the car shows. There is NO RESERVE! A $700 deposit into my Paypal account is required at the time of sale and the car must be picked up at my residence in Sanger Texas or shipping arranged by the buyer. If you have questions please email, call or text Gary at 940-435-3310 before 10pm CST. |
