You are looking at a 1961 Ford Falcon 2 Dr Coupe After more than 20 years of buying and selling on eBay (mostly for other customers), I rarely get to sell something for myself. In this case, I am selling my 1961 Falcon that I've owned and restored for the past 21 years. The end result is a stunning classic ride that starts, runs and drives very nicely. This car has been garaged most of the 21 years, especially after resto was completed. After looking for many years, I finally located a bubble rear window coupe, similar to what my very first car looked like. Someone had primed the car and bought carpet for it. The restoration started with Whitesell Auto Body in Virginia creating a wonderful paint scheme, exactly as designed by Ford from day one. I bought a paint chip chart, matched the numbers and had Whitesell paint it exactly as original. The overall result is a show ready paint job with lots of shine and great fit and finish. This car had VERY little rust issues, no floor pan damage at all and no trunk pan issues at all. The 170 cu in 6-cylinder engine was removed for some minor repairs and ability to paint the engine compartment properly. With the engine out, it was steam cleaned and pressure washed. The timing chain was replaced as was the timing case cover gasket, all resulting in zero leaks for many years. The were many, many parts repaired or replaced over the years starting with: Starter rebuilt Generator rebuilt Radiator Replaced Water pump replaced Heater hoses and rad hoses replaced Heater core replaced New period correct voltage regulator New starter solenoid Vacuum wiper motor replaced with electric model utilizing original 60's controls. Brake drums lightly resurfaced. Period correct trunk mat installed, spare tire rim painted and jack, jack stand and lug wrench located and installed. When the headliner was replaced, the rear glass and weatherstrip was also replaced. --------------------------------------------------------- Door sills were reconditioned and polished before installation Both door window felt liners and guides and created and replaced as they are not available by any other companies. Was expensive! The gas tank was removed, boiled and sealed by a local radiator repair shop. Radio, speaker and antenna were replaced, but the radio stopped working a while ago. All of the bulbs in the car from dash to taillights were replaced. All of the cars weatherstrippings were replaced with new. All gauges work from speedo to gas and temp. A modern aluminum flex fan replaced the stock four blade steel model. Various white plastic dash control knobs and shifter knob were replaced with new. New old stock FORD Trunk emblem - $125 ------------------------------------------------------------ Like all cars, there are at least a few issues and this car is no different. Although, the only item I can think of is there a very few small pimple size bubble rust area above the rear drivers side fender well. The final picture is of the area, but again, they are so small, it's difficult to see the pimple size bubbles. The good news here is with a stock color being a solid red with no metallic, this should be an easy fix for those wanting to even repair the area.
