Description of 1969 Ford E-Series Van Stainless and Aluminum |
This is an amazing almost 100% original 1969 FORD ECONOLINE 200 SUPER VAN. ONLY 9,091 ORIGINAL MILES ON THIS VAN. It is a solid and from others comments - an amazing gem. No Rust on the underbody. No rust around the door panels. Very solid and I don't think it's missing anything. Engine runs, doors close properly, everything is in alignment, locks work. radio works, blinkers work... It has been stored away from the elements all these years. I took it out of storage for the first time in 15 years. We had the mechanic over and he had it running in less than an hour. We pumped out all the old gas first then ran new gas with lead additive in and pumped this gas out also. Then the gas bleeding out the line was clean. Put about 5 gallons in it with leaded additive. It runs and the engine sounds good. There is some surface rust on the engine and some of the blue paint is chipping off, but you would clean this up anyways. The shield covering the engine is solid. No cracks in the vinyl but there is a few light spots on the vinyl - maybe a glue stain causing the spots. You will need a new battery and maybe choose to replace the battery cables if you want since they have some cracks in the cable. I know you will take it apart and clean the carburetor, change the oil... I am leaving this all up to the new owner and as is. There are some paint chips, small scrapes, scratches... that are on the surface from the last 50 years. There are some very small and tiny rust dots / spots from paint chips and the like, on the edges on inside and outside from normal wear, but nothing structural and only superficial, easy to clean up. No damage on this vehicle. It has not been in an accident. I believe almost everything is original - even the FIRESTONE Deluxe Champion TIRES! : except I replaced the spark plugs, distributor, coil, and previous owner had brake lines (back left) replace some years ago probably in the 1990's. There could be some other minor parts replaced over the last 50 years, but not much. This van came off the assembly line on August 31, 1968. I believe the underbody was coated / rustproofed either from the dealer or right after taking delivery. So, it has been protected nicely. What I was told is that basically, it was bought by an old time Tool & Die shop owner new from Marshall Ford dealer in Cleveland, Ohio. They drove it lightly for short trips up until about 1991 which is the last license plate sticker that is still on the van (front and back). Then it sat in storage at the tool and die shop until 2003 when it was acquired from the Estate. I had it towed to my garage and it has sat for 15 years as my future project. Naturally, you can see it was never abused, in fact the original owners even put vinyl pieces down throughout the van to protect the surfaces during use. Also they put stickers and tape on various places and along the door edges... The tape can be removed but I am leaving everything exactly as is. I have 2 keys for it, original owners identification card and purchase. I am looking and I believe I have the original owners manual which I will include if found. It has some hippie flower stickers pasted on the outside. It is a neutral tan color on the outside an inside. The drivers and passenger's seats are original, and no cracks in the vinyl. Still very nice white color. The only real imperfection inside appears to be on the passenger side dash board where there is a small crack in the vinyl dash about 1 inch long. The outside is very nice. There are some very minor paint scratches, tiny chips or marks on the paint surface, but no damage. No dents to the body, except there is a small indentation on the removable gas cap. Also, there appears to be a very small almost unnoticeable bend in the back left bumper and a small scrape in the back right aluminum brake light casing. The inside mirror has come loose and is sitting on the dash. I will box all of the parts and materials so they do not slide around in delivery or get lost.
I have included numerous pictures. If you have specific questions let me know and I or the mechanic will answer them. I have a lot more pictures so I can send you more.
There is also an amazing unused "Angel Hippie Sticker" inside the van still in it's original package. Of course you will need to do some wiping down inside the van since it has collected some dust from sitting over the years. We wiped it down a little bit, but you can go over it in fine detail.
What you are getting is a clean solid lightly used van. See the pictures it's amazing and your imagination is the limit what you can do with it. It drives and all gears work. You will need to redo the brake lines because they started to leak. It has the original (or early FIRESTONE Tires) I pumped them up more than a week ago and they are still holding their air. The back right tire has some crack marks in the rubber but it is still holding pressure as I have not needed to refill any tires. Inside the van is clean. Still has the spare tire in perfect shape. Also has a built wood table / sleeping area. That fit inside. I can leave it if you want or remove it before it's shipped to you. Of course, you are responsible to arrange to have this picked up and delivered. It must be done by August 1st. It can be viewed if you are in the Cleveland, Ohio Area. Just send me a message.I have tried to detail everything as best as I can, but I am not a mechanic. Regardless, you will be amazed and think you just stepped into a time machine an how this looks.
If you are truly interested in this I will consider a little lower "Offer" to let you "Buy It Now" which would help you offset delivery cost and any minor repairs you may make to it. This might be the lowest miles 1969 Econoline left out there and it has a great body and strong engine barely used. If you have questions just ask. I want you to be satisfied with this van and a smooth transaction. Track Page Views With Auctiva's FREE Counter |
