Description of 1929 Ford Model A |
I have for sale a stunning fully photo-documented professional show quality build of an original Model A pick-up truck. This truck was built as a late 50's early 60's Hot Rod shop truck using all original Ford parts. Please see below for details. This car is beautiful even standing still, but once you get behind the wheel, that's when the fun begins. Built by a professional fabricator by trade for his own use, (he works on others' cars all day long) and knowing his reputation was on the line, he spared no expense to make it perfect. This car runs perfectly as it should, with no hidden flaws or secrets. Never shown after finished, drive 500 or so miles since painted. Needs nothing but a new owner. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking, Lauren Here are the specs: Original frame, boxed and rear cross member moved back for spring behind rear spring. Early Culver City Halibrand Aluminum V8 quick change rear, modified to use 1950 Mercury side and spider gears, and axles, tube ends and hydraulic brakes. Reversed eye spring, F1 shock mounts and 35 Ford radius rods and torque rod. Front axle is a 1932 Ford (heavy) Mordrop that has been polished and chromed. 1932 Ford spindles, 1940 Ford drum brakes, 1932 split wishbones, tube shocks, Ford F 100 steering box, reversed eye spring. Dual circuit frame mounted master cylinder using original early Ford brake and clutch pedals. 1932 Ford gas pedal. 1940 Ford steering wheel, and the horn works with the original Ford horn button. Front wheels are 40 Ford 16x4 with new Coker Firestone bias ply tires, rears are early Mercury 16x5 with Coker Firestone bias plys. Engine is a 44,000 mile Chevy 265 V8 out of a 1956 Bel Air. Original Hurst engine mounts. All new seals and gaskets, factory 4 barrel, 1960's corvette exhaust manifolds and fan, polished stagger bolt original Corvette valve covers, rebuilt generator and new regulator. PCV valve in road draft tube, Pertronix ignition in original disributor. Tremec World Class 5 speed on chevy bellhousing, hydraulic center throw clutch master, all new/rebuilt. Original Model A Shift lever and parking brake installed. New water pump, fuel pump, Walker Brass/copper radiator. Runs below 170 at ALL times. Body is all original Ford with the exception of the cab corners which are excellent reproductions. Doors are perfect, original cowl and original gas tank. The bed was dis-assembled including all the rivets removed, metal finished and riveted back together as original. New solid oak bed, and powder coated strips. New wood kit in the cab. All new glass. Firewall was carefully re-arranged to fit the Chevy engine, and no interior room was lost. Toeboards are in original location, plenty of room for 6 foot plus tall driver. New interior, custom seat, oxblood red, custom rear window inside garnish and finished upholstery on rear panel, windshield header, and kick panels. Varnished Oak floors, battery under passenger side panel. Full original storage under seat, and original map pockets in cab. Roof is new wood, original long grain vinyl, metal finished visor. Stewart Warner GPS Speedometer in original engine turned/modified dash panel, oil pressure and water temp gauges in custom mount below dash insert. Original fuel gauge, ignition switch and headlight switch in the original dash. New wiring throughout. Dropped and chromed original Ford headlight bar with original headlights and glass and halogen bulbs. Body was stripped, metal finished and painted in original Ford Washington Blue PPG single stage paint. The fenders, splash aprons are off a 60's era show truck, and have no wire edge breaks or repairs, and no patch panels. Frame and most running gear, wheels are powder coated, lots of chrome. Nothing was left used/unrestored, or not new or rebuilt. Not pieced together from 20 different cars, this was an original unrestored driver. Current California title and registration with the original Ford Serial number, original California 1929 commercial license plates, California Car Cover Co. cover included. Runs/drives perfectly as it should, with no hidden flaws or secrets. Never shown after finished, driven 670 or so miles since painted. Fly in drive home, needs nothing.
