1968 Ford Custom 500 Ranch Wagon with 12,200 original miles. This car was sold new at Bob Simmers Ford Sales in Nanty Glo PA March 19, 1968 and has remained in the same family until August of this year. The factory warranty card and brochures are with the car along with the build sheet. The back seat belts are still connected and wrapped in plastic from the factory. This is the low priced wagon from Ford in 1968. It is equipped with a 302 motor with three speed column mounted shift. Also known as "three on the tree" It has a radio and heater. Everything about the car appears original. The four Firestone tires match the spare and in my opinion are original to the car. The fuel pump and master cylinder are new. The gas tank was taken out and refurbished by a shop in Greensburg PA. The car runs and drives like a 1968 Ford wagon should and did. The brake light is on but the brakes function as they should. The gas gauge does not work. The glass is all good with no hazing or discoloration. The interior is like new with the exception of some wear on the cargo area floor. The headliner is good. The tailgate opens and closes fine and all doors open and shut without issue. The bumpers are good and straight and are very good driver quality. The paint is all original but could use some some loving. It probably could use a respray but that would be up to the new owner, There are no rust or rot issues. The underside is solid with no rust or repair work ever done. This wagon survived 51 years and was recently brought out of hibernation and needs to go to someone that will enjoy it, show it off and drive it. It would be a great advertisement piece for your flower shop, antique shop or craft business. What a great backdrop for a photo setting. A car to take the grandkids out for a ride. Station wagons were used and to find one in this condition does not come along very often. This car is not advertised for sale anywhere else and if the modest reserve is met it will be sold. I will not end the auction early and do not have a "buy it now price" The car is located about an hour northeast of Pittsburgh and about three hours form Hershey PA. If reserve is not met it will be at the car corral in Hershey in October. $500 deposit is required with in 48 hours of auction full payment with in 7 days. Buyer responsible for all shipping costs. I encourage any bidders to come and take a look at the car or have someone look it over for you. Good luck, happy bidding and make it yours at auction
