1966 Mustang - Oregon Survivor Here up for sale is this super original Mustang Fastback. This car was bought new in Portland, and has had 3 owners from new, all here in Portland. The 2nd owner bought it as a used car in 1968, and passed it down to her granddaughter in 1988, who owned it for the next 31 years. The mileage of 89,321 is believed to be original. The car is incredibly solid, with no rust issues anywhere. I have over 80 photos below showing every aspect of this car, including the undercarriage. I also made a driving video if you'd like to see it, at https://youtu.be/vW0BEkLRN-0 The car has been spot painted over the years, and now the finish has faded as you can see in the photos. The door tag decodes to Candy Apple Red, and the original paint is still seen in the door jambs and trunk. The body is very straight, except for a minor tweak on the rear passenger side of the roof, only noticeable on close inspection. Some will notice that the car has a 1965 grill, it was bumped in the front early in life, and the grill and surround were replaced with what was available at the time. There was no other damage, the front frame rails and core support both look fine, and both fender stampings match the ones on the inner fenders. All of the glass is original, all of it CarLite branded, including the windshield. The interior is all original, and in great shape - No cracks in the dash or steering wheel, nice carpets, good headliner, etc. The driver's side seatback has a small split, but after 53 years I'm gonna give it a pass. Both doors close with one finger. Both windows wind smoothly and all locks work. All gauges work and show good readings, the wipers, horn, signals, etc are all functioning. The only item not working is the radio, it powers on but has no sound. The 200ci six fires instantly and runs great. It's a little clackety when cold but smooths out and quiets out when warm, watch the video. A photo of compression readings is at the bottom of the page. The car runs cool and shows good oil pressure. Shifts easily, but you'll notice in the video that the shifter boot is loose. Tires are old but have good tread. The car's been nicely upgraded to 4 wheel power disc brakes, otherwise it's bone stock. Whether you decide to leave the car just as it is, or drop in a built motor and 5 speed is up to you. If you plan on the latter, you won't find a better car to start with than this one. The pictures should do the talking but if you have any questions feel free to email me. Those local to the Portland area are welcome to stop by to see it in person or for a test drive. Email for an appointment.
