Description of 1948 Ford Anglia

1948 anglia gasser “Gamueda bro’s”

Built by four brothers out of Pueblo Colorado. Built in the late 50’s originally running a merc flathead. The car ran a 12.88 at 102 mph. The record at the time was 12.92. They hurt the engine on that pass and couldn’t back it up.

In 1965 the Anglia got a 301 mondello built sb, mopar 8 3/4 rear, super t-10 trans.

The brothers had brought the Anglia to the 1965 winter nationals in the back of their fathers new farm truck (which I have photos of)

Motor is fresh, hilborn injection, schiefer magneto. Lots of old speed parts.

Hurst airheart front brakes

Car runs very well, would be very competitive in vintage drag racing.

I have a clear and clean title in hand. When I got it it was still in Gamueda name (I made a copy of original also)

Like new jc penny rear slicks. Front wheels are American racing magnesium lemans with a very nice vintage set of pro trac front runner tires.

Steel body, caged, fiberglass doors and fiberglass tilt front clip. Lexan red tinted windows.Very nice aluminum floors and interior panels.

Very well built car, it has been a race car late 50’s with minimal changes.

The car has been in multiple magazines and is in the nhra book of history (which are all included) along with old photos and newspaper clippings

Car is located in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
