The transmission was removed, nd a month later the owner had a newborn child, o the car was never worked on again. It has been in garage storage since 1979. This car broke several AHRA H/Gas Class records in its day. This is a 100% true survivor. This car is not a fake gasser built recently to look like a gasser, his is the real deal! The paint is a custom blue metal flake, ith fogged panels along the body sides that go from blue to white, ith a spatter type webbing and trimmed in white pinstriping. The hood and rear tailgate also have matching fade panels with custom airbrushed starbursts. The paint is old and cracking, ut still shines and sparkles and looks great. There is no body damage, nd no rust whatsoever. After a race, he hood was left unpinned, nd when flat towing the car home, he hood flew up and hit the roof above the windshield leaving a dent. This also resulted in some paint chips to come off on the hood. The interior has black carpet, ood veneer door panels, lack vinyl headliner, wo bucket seats wrapped in black vinyl covers, nd an engine turned dash/ recessed firewall that houses the gauges. The dash/firewall was built with aircraft fasteners so it can easily be taken apart to access the rear of the engine. All windows are Lexan, nd are riveted and screwed to the insides of the window channels. The windows have cracks and are showing their age, ut all side windows are clear and intact. The rear window has recently been replaced with new Lexan because the original was too far gone. I have a new piece of Lexan to replace the front windshield as well that will be included, s well as the old front Lexan windshield for a pattern. Sometime in the mid-late 90's, he owner moved to a new house. The original drag slicks that were mounted on the original 14" slot mags were too rotten to hold air, o a pair of old steel wheels with radials were bolted on for the flat-tow trip to its next garage. I'm sure the front tires were also old, ut they were replaced with new radials, hich were probably cheap VW type tires that are easy to find, nlike the rear tires which were wider and more expensive. The original rear slot mag wheels and slicks are no longer with the car. The brake master cylinder is seized, he steering works fine, nd the suspension works well. There is no transmission included with the car, or is there a flex plate, tarter, riveshaft, r transmission crossmember. Those items are all compatible with SBC engines, o replacements should come easy. The engine is set back 7-3/4" from the first spark plug hole to the centerline of the front axle, alling within the engine setback allowances of the gasser rules in the 1960's. The engine has not ran since it was put away in 1979, ut still turns over by rotating the crank pulley by hand. The oil is as clean as new. The engine does not leak at all, ut if it were to be ran, would suggest replacing all gaskets and hoses. I have replaced the fuel hose from the Moon tank up along the frame rail and to the firewall, s well as the hoses from each carb. All it needs is a 3-carb fuel block to complete the fuel system, s it was likely removed and sold to a friend of the original owner, r used on one of his other cars. The radiator holds water, ut the drain peacock has a slight leak. This car has only seen the light of day a handful of times in over 35 years. It is a time capsule, nd I can only hope that someone will keep it unmodified, nd exactly the way it was. It would not take much to put it back to 100%, ut changing it up would be a mistake since this car is so well preserved and has not been updated. This car deserves to be taken care of by a collector and enthusiast of drag racing history. I wish I could keep this car, ut garage space is low and other projects have higher priority. This is your chance to own a true survivor of the gasser era. There is no title for this car. There is no VIN number for this car. This is a race car. Again, his car is complete except for the following parts...-Transmission-Transmission Crossmember-Driveshaft-Flexplate-Starter-Fuel Block-14"x8" Slot Mag Wheels and Slicks-Battery I feel my description is as accurate as can be. Once you see it for yourself, ou will know that I have been as thorough as possible, nd I want there to be no doubts in what you are buying, s well as no surprises for the new owner. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions, ut please reread the entire descriptions your question(s) may have already been answered. What you see in the photos, s exactly what you get. Not included in the photos is the original bolt on flat tow bar, nd the new Lexan front windshield piece. Again, here is NO title for this vehicle, here is NO VIN for this vehicle. Thanks and happy bidding! |
