Description of 1973 Ford Bronco 4X4

We love first generation Ford Broncos because they have the classic silhouette, are a cool convertible around town, and have the 4x4 prowess to go off-road at a moment's notice. It's a skill set that never goes out of style, especially when all these qualities have been enhanced so well on this 1973 example.

The boxy bodywork gives this SUV a real machismo, but there's a lot of style to this one, too. The shade of Dark Charcoal has a great modern clearcoat shine. This color also nicely complements the 4x4's dark side. The grille, fender flares, and upgraded 20-inch wheels are all finished in black, which is a nice dose of attitude. This color combo also meant the folding roof coordinates with the full package when it's in place. Plus, those black bumpers complement this two-tone style while also adding plenty of function and the projector headlights add a dash of modern touch. After all, we know real 4x4 fans will find the brush guard in front quite handy, and the hooks and tow hitch in the rear can always be put to good use.

Because a Bronco like this loves to be open to the world, the same exterior color theme is continued inside. The dash and door tops continue the exterior metallic gray, and it's joined by the black on the roll bar, dash pad, floors, door cards, and upgraded sports steering wheel. Plus, the black and gray seating unite these two colors perfectly. And since these covers are made of a durable vinyl, and the floor is metal, cleanup from a dusty day out on the trail can be as easy as a garden hose.

Under the hood is the largest motor that was offered in these first-gen Broncos: the mighty 302 cubic-inch V8. Plus, this one has been upgraded with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and a new dual exhaust. It fires up nicely, and you can even spot newer components like the brake booster. The V8 connects to a three-speed automatic transmission and two-speed transfer case feeding both axles. Broncos have a tough off-road attitude, and that's only enhanced on this one with Toyo Open Country tires. Plus, these were the first consumer 4x4 to utilize front coil springs. So that combines with power steering and power brakes means to deliver a fine total package for the town or the trail.

Complete with warranty packet and owner's manual, this is the Bronco represents maximum fun on and off the road. Call now!
