Description of 1964 Ford F-350

1964 Ford F-350~Original 56 year old California Ford Truck~Dana 70 Single Rear axle with 4.88 gears~Original dual California black plates~Original 292 Y Block V8Up for sale is a sweet Bengal Tan 1964 Ford F-350 flatbed. The truck was built in San Jose, CA late 1964 and has been in northern California for the last 56 years. This truck has some specifics that make it a cool find. Many commercial trucks were ordered with 6 cylinders, this one has V8. The overhead valve Y block block motor was introduced in 1954 after the flathead v8 had run its course, the Y block is famous for its rigidity and overall strength and a perfect fit for a 1 ton truck designed to haul. 1964 was the last year for the 292 Y block to be included into trucks or any Ford, making this truck the last of an era in that sense. The 292 is paired with a Warner4 speed transmission driving a heavy Dana 70 rear axle. The Dana 70 has 4.88 gears and is a single rear wheel setup also making this a unique truck because it is not a dually yet is as heavy duty as your're going to get. 5+ decades is a long time and its not often you come across a vehicle that sits as original as this truck. Nothing has been modified because nothing really needs modifying when you have a factory V8, 4 speed and the heaviest duty axle. The truck also comes with the original California black and yellow license commercial plates issued new in 1964 which are currently registeredfor 2020.Cosmetically this truck is an honest 56 year old survivor. For the most part the cab is straight, there are some dings and dents as expected for a 56 year old truck but no serious damage that needs repair. The original Bengal Tan paint shines nicely and for the most part is very much present. This truck does not have rust holes or rotted panels, what you see is what you get its an honest original truck with 56 years of patina. The Bengal tan color is very much present on the frame under the bed. The hardwood on the bed is in great shape as well as the stakes on the sides. There is no rotted out wood. The interior of the truck is in great shape. All the gauges are functional. The interior paint shines great. All the doors are in good shape with no rot underneath. The original cardboard headliner is intact and in good shape.Mechanically this truck is runner. The 292 starts up and drives nicely. It shifts into all gears as well as revers. The motor is original and has been rebuilt at some point. The hydraulic lift is also functional. This listing includes well over 100 detailed photos in various lighting and the vehicle has been described as descriptive as possible.
