Description of 1973 Ford Maverick restomod |
I am having to relist my Maverick due to a bidder not having the funds to pay, so please don't make me an offer unless you have the funds thanks. Anyway this is a 1973 Ford Maverick Restomod priced to sell. It has spent its entire life in sunny California and is still sporting its original blue license plate. Due to this it has a solid rust free body which is the most important factor in a classic car. This Maverick is quite rare coming from the factory with a 302 cubic inch V, automatic transmission, power steering and power brakes with front discs equipped more like a fastback Mustang. Most Mavericks were equipped with a 6 cylinder engines and drum brakes. In one of my photos you can see the factory door sticker showing its original equipment and color. This was a great basis to build a restomod and the previous owner installed a rebuilt later model fuel injected 302 V8 with an automatic overdrive transmission and aluminum radiator. He also installed modern headlights (see photos) and a AM/FM CD player with 6x9 speakers hidden under the rear parcel shelf. The fuse box for the fuel injection was installed in the glovebox (see photo) and the ecm is under the glovebox. When I purchased the car it was an unfinished project and needed interior work and exterior paint as it was still in its original paint with some primer as body work had been started. I repainted the car in its original color of Saddle Bronze with a basecoat / clearcoat (comes with a pint of paint for future touchup) In the photos you can see the original side mouldings still in place. I did not need to repaint under the hood, in the trunk or door jambs as they were in very good original condition.New cut pile carpet, seat upholstery with foam, dash cap and new Noico sound / heat insulation mat was installed. I intentionally installed black carpet and a black dash cap to break up the brown interior and give it a more modern look. The car comes with matching interior paint if you wish to match the dash top. The modifications that I made from stock are:New 15x7 inch American Racing Torque thrust wheels and Cooper Cobra tires 255/60 rear, 215/65 front ( original wheels were 14 inch and those tires are getting hard to find for performance use.)New cold air intake system.New NHRA approved battery box and battery mounted in trunk with new cables.Front bumper shaved and tucked in 4 inches. Both bumpers painted Corvette Pewter basecoat / clearcoat. (original bumper parts come with car)New rev counter, oil pressur, voltage and temp gauges installed.New front 3 point safety belts.4 new shock absorbers. I have made a video of the car and I would recommend anyone interested to watch it as it shows the car in detail and driving. This is a really nice car that is surprisingly fast and well handling and does great burnouts! If this was a Mustang fastback I would be asking $35k for it. Mavericks are the last of the muscle car bargains out there as its competitor the Dodge Demon has already gone through the roof price wise. This is one rare Maverick, a Factory 302 V8 car with power disc brakes and power steering still in its original color. Look at the competition, they are asking 20K plus for similar cars. Please call or email me with any questions ( Simon @ 559 349 3109 ) I can help arrange with shipping if needed. Don't miss out! Full payment within 7 days and $300 deposit within 24 hours. 1973 FORD MAVERICK Restomod Video will open in a new window Using the mobile app? Copy this link into your browser: |
