Description of 1966 Ford Mustang base coupe hard top

As the new 2015 Mustang debuts. own a piece of American history: An original. first generation. 1966 Mustang V8 coupe with only 53. 00 original miles. I am selling this on behalf of a friend who does not have an eBay account. He is a 30+ year veteran machinist and mechanic who has personally done most of the work to revive this classic little coupe. I own over a dozen classic cars and if I had the money and space. this would be proudly in my personal collection. This is a true unmolested barn find! All cleaned-up. freshened where necessary. all mechanicals and safety items gone over. runs and drives great. idles smooth and stable and slow. ready for spring and summer cruising and car shows. The car made an effortless 40 mile round trip on a 30 degree day for these photos. The car was purchased new by a retiring Ohio school teacher back in 1966. she then drove it to Florida where she retired. The car was last licensed in Florida in 1982. Upon her death. her family in Ohio brought the car back here and stored it in a barn for 30 years. 289 V8. 2 barrel. 3 speed floor shift “C4” automatic "Cruise-o-matic". all numbers matching. Beautiful correct Ford Ivy Green Metallic. in a frsh repaint in base/clear. The car might look black in the harsh late afternoon winter sunlight when these pictures were taken. but. it is truly that great Ford 60’s dark GREEN metallic. very unusual and cool. New bumpers and logo emblems. Factory AM radio. All original black vinyl interior. including seats. door panels. dash top. Original carpet and seat belts. New headliner and rear package shelf. Floor pans. trunk floors and shock towers original. rust and issue-free. Original brake lines and fuel lines. All new wheel cylinders and brake pads. Fresh gaskets in the engine and transmission. This car does NOT have power steering or power brakes. The original carb. alternator and distributor all rebuilt locally by Automotive Electric of Akron. a legendary shop in business since 1923. After-market AC is in place under dash but NOT installed under-hood. The AC system will be sold with the car for you to install…. or not install. see photo of major components.
