Description of 1966 Ford Galaxie Custom 500

This is a Barn Find Historic Vintage Race car fully documented in original condition. This was driven by Gordy Haines of Wapato. Wa. and owned by Ken Wofford. Gordy Haines was a very Successful driver with many career victories. Gordon “Gordy” Haines raced from the 50’s through 1976 with the number "100". He raced throughout the Pacific Northwest in several series including Winston West. I have a list of tracks and events raced by Gordy including articles from 1970 naming Gordy the Evergreen Speedway Champion and the "1970 Yakima Speedway NASCAR champion" with this chassis. This car still shows the original paint seen in the original picture with Gordy in the driver seat taken in the 60's. I have documentation. pictures. and video footage from the 1960’s showing this car racing to authenticate everything stated. Included is a bill of sale from the Wofford family stating that this was the car built by there father. Ken. and raced by Gordy. This chassis is the original 1961 Starliner that after a few crashes was swapped with the 66 Galaxie Post. I have video footage of the Starliner crash. followed up by the 66 Galaxie body running the next season. This was very common and still is in Nascar today. If you had a good winning Chassis. you would keep it. and update the body to the current times to keep the fans and sponsors interested. This chassis has the Holman-Moody designed side exit exhaust through the frame. 4 corner jackscrew suspension. and a drivetrain suitable for a Vintage Nascar restoration. It does not include the correct 427 Side Oiler ran by Gordy. but does include a 428 FE with the original custom oil pan ran by Gordy and a original 428 Cobra Jet carb. I also have the correct rebuilt Close-Ratio Toploader and the correct 9" Rearend. There is no Rust. but plenty of bondo and dents showing its race history. All Hand Painted lettering and numbers are still very visible along with sponsor stickers and tire marks down the door seen in the early black/white photo on the track. There is no gauge cluster. but I do have the vintage Sun Tachometer seen in the early photos. Included is many extra parts needed for this restoration including doors. suspension parts. brake parts. FE engine parts. and a backup engine. and much more. I intended on restoring this to race in the Vintage NASCAR class. but I am forced to sell. The drivetrain is not currently installed. but for shipping purposes I can install it if needed.
