Description of 1949 Ford Other Business Coupe

Up for sale is an unfinished street rod. 1949 Club coupe. Starting with a rust-free West Texas hot rod that has been off the road for at least 25 years. this is an outstanding build by Keith Fox. Merlin's Rods & Customs. Lubbock. Texas (eight oh six. two three nine. three nine two two). At the customer's request. Keith left the top unchopped. installed 1951 door latches and handles. 51 Ford gas tank filler door. and restored the rear fender openings that had been arched out in the past. Keith expertly corrected some old collision repair that prevented the driver's door from closing properly. installed new rocker panels below doors. and repaired other rust as needed. Only the spare tire rack in the trunk has rust presently. Easy fix. A new transmission cover was fabricated and installed. All major body work has been done on this car. leaving finish body work to prepare it for paint. Below are some highlights of the build:1. Mustang front suspension with Fatman Fabrication/disk brakes; 56 Ford rear end with 389 gears;2. Fresh 283 SBC with 305 heads. aluminum intake and new Edelbrock 4-barrel; rebuilt 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission; aftermarket master cylinder & pb booster; all new brake and fuel lines; new Speedway Motors aluminum radiator. all new brakes. 3. Speedway Motors chrome steering with column shift; restored and painted black original dash; restored original gauges. 4. Completely rewired with Speedway Motors kit. custom grille; front seat re-upholstered; rear seat needs to be covered & interior completed. Comes with patterns for all glass. new vent & windshield rubber; stainless trim. and many extra partsVery strong running 283. Car is fun to drive and ready to enjoy.
