Description of 1940 Ford Other |
This was originally a 1940 Ford convertible. It has been custom built. (top added) as a custom hot rod in the past. I was told this car was possibly a unfinished car from the "Valley Customs" shop out of Burbank CA. The body has been sectioned and channeled. and the frame has been "Z'd". Was also told this was the car used for a magazine article on how to Z the frame (Hot Rod Mag. Early 50's) The fenders have been leaded to create the seamless body lines. the original windsheild frame and structure are still present and this car can be changed back the original convertible. The top has also been leaded into place. All the hard work has been done. but will need some attention. It has had a Mustang II rack added. It has the old school big Oldsmobile Reinforced Rearend still present. also has Cheviot rear wheels. I have the right front fender (not stock) and 1940 Deluxe grille. and Hood. and radiator. that are specific for this car (all have some custom modifications). I have enough of the left front fender that you could use to make one from a stock fender. It need floors and some other metal work. but the body is a piece of work in itself. It is not a easy project. but one that would make a great ride with some effort. I can get more pics. just ask for what you need and I will send them direct to your email. or iPhone. Any questions will be answered daily. Got this vehicle from a friend who had it inside his shop for quite awhile. |
