Up for auction is this cool. unique 1972 Ford F100 short wide bed farm truck. This is factory equipped with a 240 cid inline 6 cylinder engine. C4 automatic transmission and Ford 9 inch rear-end. It has manual steering and brakes. a heater and not much else. The body has it`s share of small bumps and bruises that only build character. The doors have a hand-painted logo that says "Howard Farms Dalby Springs. Texas". I found this truck just north of Dalby Springs. The paint is showing a lot of patina. light surface rust. chips. scratches and fading. There are a couple of small bubbled spots at the bottom of both front fenders and both doors. The body brace that runs under the floor. beneath the seat. is rusted through. The floor area in front of the seat has been replaced with flat metal. A little bit of an amateur job. but they did seal it and fasten it down properly. If you crawl under the truck. you`ll see a few small pinholes in the bottom of the cab corners. The front floor brace supporting the front portion of the bed floor is rusted pretty good but doesn`t effect the structural integrity of the truck. The front area of the bed floor is rusted through. but you could always throw a piece of plywood over it or some sheet metal. The only other rust I found is a few tiny pinholes on the roof where it meets the drip rail and of course typical corrosion under the battery area. If you`re looking for a real straight truck to put a nice paint job on - this is not for you. If you want a fun old truck that starts conversations every time you stop for gas. then this might work for you. There is not much to the interior -- the seat is fine. no tears. the carpet looks ok. The door panels are metal. the original cardboard headliner is ok. The steering wheel is a really neat one robbed from a 1959 Ford Galaxie. There is one chip in the windshield. All other glass is fine and windows roll up and down fine. The engine runs great and has a new carburetor. The transmission shifts fine - as you`d expect. The brakes work as well as can be expected of manual drum brakes - they stop safely. There are no leaks to be found under the truck. All gauges work. all lights work - except for the turn signals. The wipers work and the battery is good. The wheels are 15x6 in front and 15x10 in back with 1950 Ford hubcaps and good tires all around. I may be forgetting a couple things here but overall this is a good truck ready to cruise and enjoy. I have a clear Texas title in hand. I`m happy to answer all questions. Text or call 940-632-9454. I`ll provide additional photos if you call me and request. I`m located in Pottsboro. Texas. 1 hour north of Dallas. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Good luck bidding.
