For most serious collectors. the 1957 Ford is the favorite year design for the decade of the 1950s. Here at MissChiTown we agree with this assessment wholeheartedly. It is hard to think of a better looking car then a 1957 Ford convertible. However color is always a major factor with any car and again. here at MissChiTown we feel that the Black & Red color scheme would be our first choice. As you can see from the photos this car is in top condition for “Show or Go” and the owner has told us that mechanically this car is a car that you can get in and just drive. drive. drive! The car has been upgraded with an AM/FM radio without any new holes in the dashboard. Of course all Fords from the mid-1950s with automatic transmissions will leave little droppings on your garage floor and is not anything that is considered unusual. Yes. even the interior has been replaced with the original style pattern and the colors are as close as the owner could get to the original Ford colors. We really believe that other then having a wordy description on this car the pictures speak for themselves and we think you will like what you see. Please view the video to see all the additional photos provided by the seller so that you can see up close the detail of the car. The car is located in the south and if you provide your zip code we will be happy to calculate mileage for you. NOTES FROM THE SELLER I purchased the car in 1999 and invested a lot of money to finish it to the beautiful condition it is in today. The fellow I bought it from was having health issues and left the car unfinished. We do not have a lot of information from the previous owner because he passed away. It has an automatic transmission. I added power steering. electric ignition. AM/FM Cassette Radio [Without cutting the dash]. and I've been told that it has 312 ci. V/8. I recently had a new aluminized dual exhaust system installed. I built a console and storage unit for touring which we did a lot of. but wife now has health issues that keeps us home. Paint. tires. trunk. gas tank and interior are in really great condition. Engine does not smoke but does leak from rear main. as Y blocks seem to do. This is my wife’s car and we have enjoyed going to car shows and tours and we were comfortable driving it all over. The last long trip we took in the car was for a tour in October 2013 and we drove about a 120 miles round trip. We exercise the car frequently to keep it running great. When I restored the car in 2001-2002. I had the car painted in appropriate Ford factory colors for 1957. The convertible top and boot were replaced at this time and the power top works fine. The interior was redone to the original style interior in red and white. New tires were put on in 2001. The chrome looks really great and some was rechromed in 2001-2002. The underside was undercoated by the previous owner. The underside looks a little greasy because of the transmission leak. The transmission works fine and shifts down when it is supposed to but there is a leak. The brakes work with a slight pull to the right. Since my wife is not able to travel like we used to it seems like a good time to let somebody else enjoy the car. 1957 Fords have always been popular in the United States but here at MissChiTown we know that they are also popular in countries like Canada.
