Description of 1947 GMC Other |
1947 GMC 1/2TON PICKUP This is a great foundation for a classic pickup project - a solid Montana truck with a clear Montana title! The truck is complete enough to restore, t would make a great canvas for a sweet streetrod, r it has just the right amount of petina to clear-coat and drive it like it is!! It is my intention to describe the condition of this truck as thoroughly as I can, ut I strongly encourage you to look at each of the photos with the add and feel welcome to contact me via the eBay message board with any questions you may have. BODY/SHEET METAL: It is important to note that, lthough Montana is a seasonal state with cold winters, he climate is dry (very low relative humidity) and the state does not use salt on it's winter roadways. That said, he sheet metal and undercarriage of this truck is very solid and only in need of minor repairs. As you can tell from the photos, he rust on this truck is largely superficial and surface rust. The fenders, ocker panels, oor bottoms, ab corners, loors and box are very solid and free from cancerous rust. There are minor dents and dings, ut are to be expected on a truck that is nearly 70 years old. The box is in good condition, ut is missing the back portion that stretches between the bed sides behind the cab and the tailgate. Both of these pieces are reproduced in steel and are reasonably inexpensive. At the same time, hese trucks (1947-1954 Chevy and GMC) are rather plentiful and these pieces are reasonably easy to find used should you prefer the patina of used parts. The truck is also missing the front bumper. Although not pictured, he headlight buckets ARE included with the truck. ENGINE/TRANSMISSION/DRIVETRAIN: The truck is complete under the hood (missing only the battery) and the engine turns free. The transmission shifts in and out of gear and rolls easily in neutral. The rearend seems to be in good working order. The truck is missing the gas tank. These are also available on the reproduction market. INTERIOR/GLASS: The interior of this truck is complete with few exceptions. Although the seat frame is included, he seat springs are missing. The glass in this truck is all flat, o any that is missing or in need of repair can be cut at your local glass shop. This truck has a clear Montana title and I will issue a notarized Bill of Sale with it. This vehicle is being sold in "as-is," "where-is" condition and no warranty/guarantee - written or implied - exists with this vehicle. A deposit is required within 48hrs of vehicle sale.
