Description of 1984 GMC Jimmy Sierra Classic

1984 GMC Jimmy . Original Southwest rust free survivor. Very good condition with all original paint and trim in near excellent condition aside from a few minor dings here and there. The paint is nice and solid and shines up wonderfully. I was going to repaint it as there is virtually no body work to be done, but then people might think it is just another clapped out, bondo-ed up SUV. I just buffed out some faded paint and the factory applied finish presents itself nicely. All of the panels line up as they should and the doors, hood and tailgate close well. They are only original once and this is a very well kept driver. It does have a few scratches from trailing through desert brush. (We call it Arizona Pin-striping). They are visible in the photos. Again, a little brush touch up paint would hide these, but I want to be clear about the unmolested patina this truck has. I don't think I've ever had it someplace where it doesn't get compliments. If you wanted one of these to "cherry out", you would be hard pressed to find a better example The motor runs sweet and always starts easily. This is geared to just eat up the highway. It has dual exhaust with Flow-master mufflers and has the most mellow sound anyone could want. Just enough to know there is some grunt available but not at all obnoxious. The cats have been removed so it breathes well and just loves to cruise around 75 or 80. The overdrive transmission has been custom built by the guys at Hughes performance and the shifts are rock solid with a "dummy" lockup and again just runs like a scalded coyote.. The suspension is of course very rugged for a 4 wheel drive and it has heavy duty shocks all around with new u-joints and a custom built driveshaft. The steering is tight as a tick and there is no slop or "wandering" that is so common on these vehicles. Nothing clunks or makes any weird noises. This is an adult owned and well preserved old truck. This has a new interior with the seats done in "bomber jacket" real leather. There is about 10 pounds of Dyna-mat on the rust free floors and the entire interior is covered in super tough loop pile carpet in a neutral sand color. It has a new headliner in the fixed cab section and the removable hardtop has been re-surfaced in white bed-liner. It should last a hundred years. The upholstered door panels have been covered in the leather and the dash pad has been redone. The power windows work(slowly). The door locks do not work. I have a new premium Sony CD player with remote and I installed marine grade speakers so there are no worries in driving with the top off or getting caught in the weather. The tilt wheel is tight. It has a dinky steering wheel that I both hate and love at the same time. I am long legged so it is very easy to slide in and out, but when I'm holding it I feel like I should be wearing handcuffs or something. All of the gauges work.the clock doesn't. (did they ever?) All around it is a nice truck. This is really quiet. It has no squeaks or rattles unless you really twist it and then the seat latches might shake. Any of my friends that have ridden in it always remark that it fells like a new truck. I have been playing with this Jimmy for a couple of years and fixing little "trinket" issues that pop up on any 35 year old truck. Right now the nagging things are the windshield wipers don't work. The plastic handle just spins on the turn signal stalk. I haven't looked at it to see if the switch is bad which I understand is fairly common on these or if it is just the handle. This is Arizona, By the time you need the wipers the rubber is rotted off the blades. The A/C was not hooked up when I bought it. Everything works on the dash and I bought a new hose assembly, but it still needs a filter dryer and charging. I have not been able to get the rear window switch to work from the dash switch. I bought a new switch and nothing looks chopped up by the wiring, but there is another item to play with. This truck has the little stainless window eyebrows. I really like them. There are new Falken tires on it and some period looking aluminum wheels. They are wearing perfectly. The brakes are like new and the vacuum booster was replaced. There are no leaks or drips. I have a full sized spare. All of the nylon headlight adjusters have been replaced along with the light bulbs. This still needs the interior rear wheel wells covered and I'm sure there are another handful of detail things that might pop up. I have far too many cars to keep track of and it is time to let them go to someone that will certainly get more use out of it than me. I bought this after my last trip through Rocky Mountain National Park and I thought how cool would it be to have a nice Blazer up here, But I still would rather drive my hot rods on a trip like that. I need half of the final winning bid within five days and the balance with in ten. NO PAYPAL with this auction. I have a clear Arizona title and the plates are good until 2022. No Nigerian Princes. Check with your Wife, Other, Priest, Astrologer or Doberman before bidding. I can store car for 20 days after auction, but then I will have to take it to a storage place. All funds must clear my bank before car will be released. I can drop this off at a shipper if it will save a buck or a hundred.

I wanted to say, just for clarity that the mileage, of course, is not the actual mileage. I have no idea of original miles.
