Description of 1976 GMC Sierra 2500 |
***This is a 7-day auction, ending Sunday night. I do not have a buy it now listed, but will consider any serious offers. I reserve the right to end the auction early at any time*** For sale: Original western survivor 1976 GMC Sierra K25 Camper Special 4x4. One family owned from 1976-2019, I purchased from the original owner's daughter. Special ordered new by a Central Montana rancher at Dean Newton GMC in Lewistown. He ordered all the heavy duty options - Camper Special with 8400 GVW, tow hooks, skid plates, power steering and brakes, bulletproof 4 speed and NP205 gear driven transfer case(not the cheesy NP203 chain drive), yellow dial Spicer "big hub" Dana HD front end, engine block heater and manual throttle. Dealer added "cow catcher" heavy duty grille guard. Originally Spring Green solid color, he took a liking to the two tone trucks, and had the white panel added. Original jack and tools, original spare tire in factory carrier. Original manuals, dealer key fob, and SPID tag included. I don't have complete maintenance records to document it, but I believe the indicated 56k miles IS ORIGINAL, as the truck still has it's original radiator hoses, Power Beam headlights, and Safety-float glass including windshield. Truck was parked in an equipment shed since 2007 with only maintenance miles, oil change shows 53k miles 12 years ago. Everything on the truck is tight and nice including the steering. Wear items on the truck match the indicated miles. PLEASE see the Photobucket album link with pics including the underside in the description below, and the YouTube walk around/start up video. Exterior: Original Spring Green paint still shines and looks great from 10 feet, but is very thin on the hood. Plenty of paint chips along lower body. Straight truck with few dents/dings, passenger door is dented where mirror mounts, and tailgate is bowed. Original grille is in good condition behind the grille guard that was installed when new. Inside box is straight including wheel wells, minor surface rust. Nothing hidden with bedliner, undercoat, or spray paint, what you see is what you get. Dry western truck, I'd say 98 percent rust free. Only external rust is small spot at bottom of passenger door. Underside looks good with a small rust spot on each side behind front wheel where floor and rocker meet - see underside pics in Photobucket album below. Mud packs in those spots and holds moisture. I believe the truck has never seen salt, and of course we don't see frame rot here out west. Presents well and draws a crowd wherever you stop. Just an honest survivor to use as is or take to the next level. Interior: Original in decent driver condition. A couple of small cracks in the original dash pad near radio speaker, and a few splits on driver seat back. Original floor mat in good condition, armrests have a few cracks. I believe everything works, all gauges, heater, wipers, radio, parking brake, manual throttle working. Even fasten seat belt buzzer still works. Windows roll up and down and doors lock. Interior is clean with no rodents or smells. All lights save one park lamp working, including clearance lights and old school Unity grille spot lamps. Original Safety-float glass in good condition, original windshield has one chip. Ready for trips to the Home Depot. Mechanical: Starts, runs, and drives out well, feels like a low mile truck. Original 350-4v pulls strong with no smoke or engine noise. No noticeable leaks or stains on garage floor overnight. Truck did make a 200 mile trip last summer. Both fuel tanks work, fuel gauge works on both tanks but bounces a bit. 4wd works great in high and low range. 10 ply traction radial tires are 4 years old and in excellent condition. Set of tire chains behind the seat are included. Very original truck right down to the original radiator hoses and clamps. Idles rough for the first minute or so when cold, might need choke adjustment. Very smooth after that. No pressing needs, but keep in mind that it is an older rig, and will need maintenance along the way. If you live in a state with very strict vehicle inspections, they will probably find something for you to fix, so expect that.
