1965 International Harvester Travelall 1100 4x4 western high desert truck NR!

For sale: 1965 International Travelall 1100 D4x4. This truck was sitting a nearby back yardfor manyyears,so being an IH guy,I "rescued" itearlier this summer. An older man had owned it for 30 years or so, sed it plenty, nd parked it several years ago.I hauled the truck to a local mechanic and had the fuel tank drained, he carb rebuilt, nd put in a new battery. The clutch and brakes were also bled andfluidswere changed/checked.After getting it up and running, drove it to a local body shop to work over the doors and windows,none of which really worked well. The driver door hinges, atch, ndstriker were replaced, s were both driver side door windows. Nowthe truckruns and drives, nd all the doors close like they should.Now it's time for thisTravelallto go on to a new owner who willdrive and restore it. For sale with NO RESERVE.I'll do my best to describe the truck below:

Exterior:Pretty solid old truck, ome rustrepair and body work needed,but very restorable.Dent behind driver rear wheel as shown, n top of previous repair. Rust appears to be limited to behind both rearwheels, bit at bottom of tailgate and one front fender, nd frontfloors. See pics.Thankfully, ince this is avery dry climate andsand, ot salt, s used on the roads, he truck was spared from the sitting-at-the-bottom-of-a-lake rust that is seen so often on the Midwest and eastern IH rigs. Left front fender and grille are also dented as shown. Glass is good except driver rear curvedside glass which has a crackas shown. Truck was originally green, nd several panels have been replaced over the years as shown.

Interior:Driver quality, ould need some attention for any show duty. Seats have cracks in upholstery under the blanket covers. One headliner section fell out and is laying in the back. As far as function, ights, ipers,and turn signals work, ut radio, eater blower and rear window are non-op. Haven't checked into it at all. Fuel and oil pressure gauges not working, mp and temp gaugesdo. Speedo cable is unplugged, 'll try plugging it in. Driver front door has a paper insert instead of metal, will check all the local boneyards to see if I can grab a metal one that matches the other 3 doors.

Mechanical:304 V8 starts, uns, nd drives. No noticeable smoke, eaks, r noises. 4 speed trans works fine, hifter is a bit sloppy though,and ittook me a minute to get used to finding the gears. I drove the truck 20 miles home and after about 5 miles I had the hang of it. Cold blooded, eeds some choke at first but when warmed up it ran fine. Steering column must have been replaced as it has a collar for a shifter. Tires are LT245/16 on white spoke wheels, hey have decent tread but also some small weather cracks. Typical old 4x4 leaks, ut I haven't noticed anything horrible. I plan on getting the truck out and doing some more driving in it, ill update auction with more info. It will need a starter bendix, nce in a while it doesn't engage.

Pricing/Misc:I'm sure some out there will notice the significantvalue in the parts on this truck, ut I think this is a Travelall that's worth fixing.It's complete, ot horribly rusty, nd runs and drives.4x4 Travelalls have always beenrare, ndyou just don't see them any more. I think the supply of restorable rigs is fading fast.As for pricing, nice68 1100former Montana Travelall just sold for $20k here on Ebay out of Missouriacouple of weeks ago. Prices have gonecrazy on these since the "War Wagon" Travelall sold forsix figures at Barrett Jackson. This truck will sell to the highest bidder, O RESERVE.Low cost shipping to is available andprobably less expensivethan fixing an East Coast or Midwest tetanus truck. Title is clear and in myname. Mileage shows on title as 405225,actual indicated mileage is 40,522.5 - will be marked as mileage exempt, ince I don't know how many miles are actually on it. Buyer should get insurance when funds are sent. Outdoor storage is available for 30 days, fter that a $100 per month fee will be charged.
