Description of 1974 International Harvester Scout |
1974 International Scout II Convertible 4x4 V8/Auto Up for auction is the very cool, vintage SUV. The Scout II is the most popular and recognizable model in the binder world and has quickly become very desirable and an excellent investment. This unrestored original Scout was rescued from thePacific North Westregion and is very solid. It has the very desirable big V8 coupled to a 727 auto transmission with Dana's front and rear. This iconic 4x4 starts up, drives and runs great. The 2bbl carb has been rebuilt as well as a new alternator and brand new battery. All fluids have been checked and serviced. Its black paint shows very well from about 20 feet away. The new owner can leave the matte back or invest in a new paint jobbut does have the normal wear and tear that comes with buying a vintage SUV. Thebodyis fairly solid but not perfect. The only visible issue is the passenger side lower front fender just behind the front tire. I would recommend just buying a new replacement panel from scoutparts.comfor $80.I've had a lot of Scouts and this one would be a great candidate for a soft restoration or simply keep as is and enjoy but it's not a pile of rust like you often find in the east and Midwest regions. The tires are decent BFG 31x10.5x15 AT's with plenty of tread left. The interior is in great shape with seat covers on the front buckets. All the glass is good with the preferred and optional rear sliders on the sides. The fuel gauge is intermittent and seems to work when it wants to (shocker). Usually it's just an old sender that has gone bad. Cleantitle is signed and ready to go. This a great opportunity to buy a sought after Scout II that is affordable and does not come with acrazy highprice tag that the restored Scoutsare now pulling. The reserve is low and fair...don't pass up this great opportunity to own a West Coast Scout. HAGERTY Insurance recently said: "International SUV's are up 85%" and"These SUV's are going to be the big trend in car collecting". "PLEASE REALIZE THAT THISVEHICLE IS USED, THE BODY AND PAINT ARE NOTNEW AND RESTOREDAND HASFLAWS. IT IS APPROX42 YEARS OLD, IS NOT "PERFECT". I'M ONLY SAYING THIS TO PROTECT MYSELF FROM EXTREME PERFECTIONISTS. THIS VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD COMPLETELY AS IS WITH NO WARRANTY, ORAL, EXPRESS, WRITTEN, IMPLIED, OR OTHERWISE. THE SELLER SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CORRECT DESCRIPTION, AUTHENTICITY, OR DEFECTS HEREIN, AND MAKES NO WARRANTY IN CONNECTION THEREWITH AND TO HAVE SATISFIED HIMSELF OR HERSELF AS TO THE CONDITION AND VALUE AND TO BID BASED UPON THAT JUDGEMENT SOLELY. WINNING THE AUCTION MEANS THAT YOU HAVE ENTERED INTO A CONTRACT TO PAY FOR THE VEHICLE, AND DOES NOT ENTITLE THE WINNER TO COME BY FOR A POST AUCTION INSPECTION TO RENEGOTIATE AFTER ELIMINATING COMPETING BIDDERS. IF YOU WISH TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE, YOU MUST DO SO BEFORE AUCTION END. PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE THE END OF THE AUCTION TO ARRANGE FOR INSPECTION, THANKS." |
