Description of 1974 International Harvester Scout |
1974 International Scout II Convertible V8-Solid. Low Mileage Original ScoutUp for sale is this original Gem of a Scout! Purchased form the original owner (well. sort of. it was from the grandson of the original owner). Super rare to find them in this type of condition. This original farm rig has been garaged for the last 10 years and periodically taken out to keep everything in running order. It only has 73k mi and from looking at the truck and analyzing the pedals. I have no reason to believe that the mileage is incorrect. This rig is awesome and the beautiful canary yellow paint is the original and other than showing a few dings here and there its in amazing condition. Under the hood is completely original and even has the original stickers on the cowl showing vacuum diagrams and such. The only visual rust observed are a few signs of surface rust on the rear fender lips but its very minor and not severe at all. The removable convertible top has NEVER been off and know this because the seals are original and have never been cut or sliced (plus the PO said it had never been off). The Scout's big and powerful V8 starts right up every time and effortlessly. It runs so good that you can barely here it running. The standard tranny shifts good as it should. Brakes have been checked and work great. The interior is complete and the front and rear seats have been freshly re-upholstered and look perfect. All the gauges work (including the gas gauge-bonus). The electrical is perfect and all the lights etc. work as they should. All the glass is awesome as well as all the hard to find exterior emblems/badging. Near perfect dog dish hubcaps without any dents or scratches. Finding these Scout II's are becoming harder to find especially without rust and low mileage. you just don't find them like this very often. I've said this before on other nice Scouts that I've had but I'll say it again-I will truly not be sorry if this gem doesn't sell because I'll have no problems keeping this one of a kind unmolested Scout. Priced right with a fair low reserve. Bid with confidence. What a great X-Mas present it would make. Hagerty Insurance said this about International Scouts in 2013: “International Scout SUVs are up by 85 percent” and that “vintage SUVs are going to be the next big trend in car collecting” They're only old once and patina cannot be faked! |
