Description of 1971 International Harvester Scout |
Up for auction is this sexy 71 Scout 800B. A true California barn find! It was brought to Arizona in August of this year and has what I believe to be the original Omaha Orange paint. A true survivor Scout that runs and drives great. Very nice body with only one small spot of rust on the entire vehicle. (See picture of drivers rocker panel). There is the normal surface rust on the underside but nothing that needs to be replaced. Here is a list of recent items that were serviced: Rebuilt original Holley 2300 carb Replaced thermostat and flushed coolant system New sparkplugs and wires New battery Fuel tanks cleaned and sealed New fuel senders on both tanks New fuel filler necks and gas caps New master cylinder, front wheel cylinders, and brake shoes (front drums turned) All fluids changed Engine runs fantastic with no leaks or smoke, transmission shifts as it should, 4wd works as it should. All lights and gauges work. Parking brake works. Overall a real nice Scout that can be driven just the way it is or makes a great foundation for a full restoration. Here is a link to a youtube video of the Scout with me driving and my wife recording 20161119 125432 Please call me if you have questions or want a different photo. After doing some research I tend to agree with him. The colors look very close but apparently Omaha Orange was not used on the 71 800b Scouts |
