We're selling this beautifully restored 1980 International Scout II Turbo Diesel with it’s factory paint, turbo diesel engine, and manual transmission. International Harvester is often credited with helping to invent and popularize the concept of an SUV. When the Scout line was introduced to the American market it blurred the lines between farm equipment and personal vehicles, creating a line of convertible, body on frame trucks that were rugged and capable, yet comfortable and sporty. This 1980 Scout II Turbo Diesel is a fantastic example of the end of the Scout II line, and we’ve preserved as much of the factory charm as possible. Video Walkaround:https://youtu.be/lL9xWCr30qM Interior: The rare, Russet Plaid interior of this Scout has been thoroughly & thoughtfully restored with the goal of preserving as much of the factory look and feel as possible while adding some creature comforts and modern amenities. The floors have been sealed with durable raptor liner to protect them from corrosion and damage. The original seats have been refurbished and reupholstered, retaining the original factory Russet plaid and pairing it with new marine grade vinyl and carpeting. The rich, dark shade of this red vinyl compliments both the factory paint and plaid fabric beautifully, bringing you the look and feel of a classic car with all the durability and comfort of a brand new vehicle. Theupholstery extends to the front driver and passenger door panels which have also been refurbished, along with the rear tailgate carpet pad. We’ve added AC to this Scout using an original IH AC box and register that match the interior of the vehicle. We’ve refurbished the gauges to ensure they’re working correctly and registering feedback from the appropriate sensors in your vehicle. Minor components such as the cigarette lighter have been repaired to ensure they functional safely and properly. We’ve upgraded the audio system to a brand-new Retro Manufacturing radio, amplifier and subwoofer, as well as Pioneer speakers in the rear, and a new kicker in the dash. Exterior:Outside of the vehicle we've added a 4" lift kit with longer Rough Country leaf springs and Skyjacker Black MAX shocks, front and rear. The vehicle is sitting on a brand-new set of Nitto Trail Grapplers measuring 33" X 12.5 " X 17" and they're mounted to a brand-new set of 17” Pro Comp Classic 69 Series, polished aluminum wheels.The front pads and rotors have been replaced, new driver and passenger mirrors installed, as well as new taillight housings in the rear. The factory Tahitian Red paint came right back to life with a little polish and elbow grease, as you can see from the photos. The Turbo Diesel accents were added by a previous owner, but the bright orange pops with the rich, Tahitian Red in the background so we’ve retained those as well. This car still has it’s factory hard top, and color appropriate front and rear Windshield seals with a red accent strip. We’ve retained the original badging throughout the vehicle as well. Condition: This truck is a true California Car, having lived it's life in the arid, dry climate of SoCal. Any 42 year old vehicle is going to have some dings, dents and rust which we've documented accurately in our photographs. You'll notice rust on the undercarriage and some spots on the rocker panels and wheel wells, but the vast majority is surface rust. The frame is clean and sturdy, the body mounts are strong, and this truck is reliable. We treated all interior rust spots and prepped the floor pan prior to coating it in raptor liner, and we've buffed and polished the exterior to protect and preserve the paint. The engine, transmission and transfer case have been well maintained and recently serviced in our shop, and this truck has been firing up right away even on the rare occasion when our California climate reaches 30 degrees.Drive Train:The vehicle retains it's factory Nissan SD33 Turbo Diesel, inline 6 engine and it's 4-Speed manual T-18 transmission.
