Description of 1971 Jaguar E-Type |
For sale we have one of the last six cylinder 4. 2 XKE roadsters made. The original color combination was pale primrose with tan interior. We bought this car in October 1987 from a man who had started restoration. but stopped working on the project. The last time the car was licensed was 1985. He had taken the whole vehicle apart and had the bonnet and body stripped of paint. The odometer statement shows only 63. 49 miles. The left hand rear quarter panel had been previously repaired poorly. We have included a new replacement panel. There are some rusted areas which had been covered by wet carpet and deteriorated (see pictures). However . the shell is fairly solid. and has good outer sills. trunk floor and interior floors. with only the sunken footwells showing rust spots. Any body repair will be covered by the interior and not noticeable. Other than some old left hand rear quarter panel repair the car appears to have not been wrecked. The bonnet is in good condition with only a few dings up front which had some old filler. The left front door is new. Apparently the previous owner did not like the original one and replaced it with an OEM part. The glass is tinted and all in good condition. We took pictures of the major groupings of parts. then boxed and labeled them. The person we bought the car from had stored everything in 5 gallon plastic buckets with no apparent organization. We took pictures of the body in bare metal then sprayed on some grey primer for rust prevention. The only major parts which appear to be missing are the rack and pinion and exhaust system. Both are available new. The body tub is mounted on rolling stands for repair. This custom made tool is designed for XKE six cylinder cars only and is included with the sale. This car comes with a clear Washington State Title. We will need to have the successful buyer sign a purchase order and necessary paperwork to release the title. This can be done by fax. This car will not go on an auto transport as it is apart. The best way to transport the car and its parts would be to rent a large U-Haul truck ( there is a U-Haul store less than a mile from our location) and have us help load it for you. Another option would be to have us deliver everything to a freight forwarder for packing and shipping . Call or email seapacservice. com. They are within a mile of us. They can pack the car in a 20' ocean going container for international shipment. As the auction terms state: We need a $1000. 00 deposit through Paypal within 24 hours of auction ending. You will have seven days to complete payment. This is a true no reserve auction. High bidder gets the car. We will not sell it before the auction ends. It is the buyers responsibility to pick up the car. We will help with loading. Also make sure you know the shipping cost. Do not bid if you are uncertain. After we receive the deposit. we will expect full payment by bank wire within 7 days. We can store the car up to 30 days after its paid for if the buyer needs that much time for pick-up. Delivery to seapac will be done if requested by buyer. If you have zero feedbacks. multiple bid retractions. or you failed to complete a sale after being the winning bidder. contact us before bidding or your bid may be rejected. We had a bad experience with "zero feedback" who bid up well qualified buyers and then re-niged on the sale. requiring us to re-list the item. |
