Topline Auto Inc. of San Mateo, CA. is very pleased to offer for a highly appreciating new owner this very special 1957 Jaguar XKSS "Tribute" Car!
Finished in British racing green over black, this automobile is a tribute to one of the most famous sports cars of all time, the XKSS owned by film star and race car driver Steve McQueen. It was built in the early 1980s in England by RAM Engineering [which is now Realm Engineering]. It features a drive train from a 1964 E-Type Jaguar and titled as a 1964 Jaguar. This is NOT a "kit car" chassis! This particular car was acquired by the current collector car owner in 2004 at the RM classic car auction [as a consolation gift to himself upon parting with one of his original 1955 D-Type XKD 528s he owned for 20 years! This particular car presented here on Ebay sports a superb running 3.8 liter inline six cylinder engine with triple carbs mated to a 4 speed manual transmission, Dunlop 15" peg-drive wheels with Vredestein tires, Reynard Racing chassis, 1990 Jaguar XJ disc brakes, Moto-Lita wood and aluminum steering wheel, upgraded alternator installed in the original Lucas generator case, trunk mounted rack and racing-style seat belts. It is being sold with clean and clear California title, current registration, car cover and includes a just issued black on gold period-correct California license plate!

A BIT OF HISTORY
In 1957, the Jaguar factory converted the remaining racing version D-types under construction to road-going form by adding a full-width windscreen. However, a fire at the factory destroyed the production line with only sixteen surviving XKSS models. Jaguar recently announced plans to build a very limited run of "continuation" XKSS cars faithfully based on the original specs to replace the cars lost in the fire. These new XKSS vehicles will be sold for over one million pounds each!

THE BODY AND TRIM
The exterior of this 1957 Jaguar is in excellent, near flawless show condition with gleaming paint and trim finishes.There are just a few minor blemishes of nicks, paint cracking and other very light imperfections.

THE INTERIOR
As I hope is articulated in the photos here, the interior of this car is in excellent to superb condition throughout. The lights, blinkers, horn and all other gauges and controls[except for the currently non-working odometer and speedometer] function as they should.Please note:The cockpit is tight and frankly suitable for a 5'9" or shorter driver!

THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE
This classic Jaguar tribute car is not for those who like not to be noticed. This absolutely gorgeous roadster garners attention from everyone! It harkens the driver and passenger back to a bygone era of driveable race cars. The inline six cylinder engine has excellent power with melodious exhaust note, crisp shifting 4 speed manual transmission and responsive manual steering with great driving feedback and tight suspension.
