1965 Jaguar XKE Roadster Series 1 indiGO Classic Cars proudly offer this magnificent 1965 Jaguar E-Type (XK-E) Roadster 4. 2L Series I with just 45. 25 miles. This is Chassis Serial Number 1E12494. featuring a beautiful refinish in Glasurit #JAG-303 (Carmen Red) paint over a beautiful Tan interior with chrome wire wheels. This is a proper. numbers-matching example with its original 265hp 4. 2L DOHC Inline 6-cylinder engine #7E7788-9 and fully synchromesh 4-speed manual gearbox #EJ6985. The 4. 2 is the most sought after E-Type in the world due to it's increase in power from previous years. while maintaining it's iconic features(glass-covered headlights. small "mouth" opening at the front. signal lights and tail-lights above bumpers and exhaust tips under the number plate in the rear). The 4. 2 version of the XK engine still produced 265hp and a top speed of 150mph like previous years. but an increase in torque from 240 to 283 lb-ft gave the car a significant power boost from the 3. 8. The 4. 2 version of the XK engine was accompanied with a handful of other upgrades throughout the car including a fully syncromesh transmission. a new Laycock-Hausserman clutch. a revised engine cooling system. and a new alternator to replace the generator. The 4. 2 became superior to the 3. 8 inside and out by also coming with more comfortable seats as well as improved braking and electrical systems.
