Description of 1966 Jaguar E-Type |
Exceptionally well maintained 1966 Series 1 OTS. Comes with rare factory hard top. 4.2 liter four-speed manual transmission. 38,000 miles from new. Daimler/Jaguar Heritage Certificate. Car was always garaged, never driven in rain. Wire spoke wheels. Full documentation on its rotisserie restoration includes hundreds of invoices and receipts, photos...etc... The late Series 1 E-Types are by the most desirable due to their increased power and usability while retaining the same outward appearance as the earlier cars. They were manufactured between 1965-1967 and had the larger 4.2 Liter engine. They received other refinements that included; a fully synchronized transmission, reclining seats, an alternator in place of the prior generator, an updated braking system and additional upgrades not found on the earlier Series 1 version built from 1961 to 1964. This car was professionally appraised in July 2016 for $200,000.00. Copy of appraisal available upon request. The E type, to this day, remains the all-time favorite car of Jacky Stewart and Sir Stirling Moss. A SIMILAR CAR, OF THE SAME YEAR (WITHOUT THE RARE HARD-TOP) WAS SOLD AT PEBBLE BEACH ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 21, 2016, for $253,000.00 |
