Description of 1990 Jaguar XJS V12 Coupe

This is a wonderful car I have owned for about 4 years. This is my third of the same year make and model in the last 20 years, and by far the best.

I have rebuilt almost every part of it. The last thing to do is a fresh paint job. Unfortunately, my interest has turned to my Lotus Esprit, and I think the love affair with the XJS is over.

In the last 500 miles: Rebuilt transmission and driveshaft, rebuilt distributor, coolant flush, new thermostats, all cooling hoses replaced.

Within the last 1500 miles: New Continental DWS tires.

Within the last 3500 miles: New radiator, new thermostats, new thermostat caps, upgrade to electric cooling fans, new rear brake pads, new stainless steel exhaust with European Cat deletes, new spark plugs cap, rotor, wires.

Upgrades include- previously mentioned exhaust upgrade, (without cats the underhood temp is significantly lower), bilstein shocks all around, hella oval driving lights replacing factory fogs, XJR 17” wheels with tires (including spare), Nardi steering wheel ( not included in auction, will sell for an additional $1000), Alpine stereo with Infiniti component speakers and Bluetooth connectivity, new console wood, new black headliner, upgrade to electric cooling fans wired to stay on a few minutes after ignition stops(very expensive upgrade).

Everything works in this car, from the radio and window to the air conditioning.

Previous owner added the Jaguar leaper to hood, original round hood ornament stored in the center console.

Issues: small area of rust at left rear window seam and lower left front fender has some bubbling. Floor panels and undercarriage are all free of rust.

I had the front clip painted when I bought it in 2012 due to oxidizing, the rear trunk now shows the same. The car looks good from far away, but definitely is due for a respray and minor rust repair. All chrome is in excellent condition.

The odometer quit at its current position around 98000 miles about 1 year after I bought it. I have six cars and this one is used about once per week. Oil, coolant and brake fluid gets done yearly regardless of the miles, so I never fixed it.

I was waiting until all the mechanicals were correct prior to painting. Obviously with the amount of money and attention I have put into this car, I had no intention of selling it. I have spent well over 10,000 in repairs and maintenance on this car over the past 4 years, not including purchase price and will be selling it for a fraction of that.

I have the original manual, cassette cleaner, brand new outdoor fitted car cover, all keys. Car was serviced by JagPro in Bellmore New York, feel free to contact Martin to inquire regards to history, he knows this car very well.

This is a great entry level into the collector car market. It is timelessly beautiful, very comfortable, fast, and all the difficult work has already been done. Even without painting it, it remains more than presentable as you can see in the photos taken during this labor day weekend. This car can be driven daily. If I had the space, it would never be for sale.

Please note, the Nardi steering wheel is NOT included. I will have the original airbag wheel reinstalled prior to sale. If the new owner wishes to purchase, please add $1000 to the final price. These wheels are rare and the adaptor for the airbag equipped XJS in no longer produced. I bought one of the last kits at a cost of about $1500 last winter.
