I've decided to offer for sale my personal, early, aluminum dash, leather console, covered headlight E-Type, Open Two Seater to persue other interests. With a wife and family, I have less interest these daysin owning and maintainingas many cars as I have in the past and they're simply not being driven much within the last couple years. Please note, for the time-being, this is the only vehicle I am offering for sale. Should we decide to sellanyof thecars that appear in the background, they will be advertised. Also, with my sincere apologies to the thousands of responsible people on eBay to whom this doesn't apply, but pleasebid only if youintend to follow through. with the purchase.I am interested in sellingthe carin a reasonable amount of time, and the car is pricedto do so. Thank you The car was partially restored about eight years ago prior to my purchase of it. VIN# 878094, the caris verified as a numbers matching example, consisting of the original engine, cylinder head and transmission (pics available upon request, of course). Jaguar Heritage paperwork is on hand to verify the numbers. Aside from the finish, having adjustable torsion bars installed at the time of restoration (The original set and reactor plate included too), and the 1970's aftermarket radio, I dobelieve the car isbasically equipped as manufactured. I currently has an Optima battery, but I have a reproduction Lucas type battery with it and a variety of odds and ends that are included in the sale too. The original 4 speed, moss gearbox was fully rebuiltand my understanding is that the rear-end was gone through as well at the time of restoration. All the steel panels were replaced correctly where necessary with proper Martin Robey panels from Barratt. The panels alignwell. The workwas all doneprofessionally by a reputable restoration shop. I do havethe partial receipts for the car, highlighting some significant parts and laborcosts associated with thework performed. The bright work is in great shape, with a good deal rechromed or replaced. Bumpers, taillight assemblies, door handles, hoodtrim, soft top trim, latches, knock offs, and so on. The complete, correct interior, including the dash board, soft top and trunk kit were also replaced inOEM colors. All were executed to excellent professional standards and are still in fantastic shape. As would be expected from a car that was disassembled for restoration work, a good amount of additional work was performed and parts replaced, clutch, complete brakes, stainless lines, miscellaneous front-end parts and suspension bushings, a rebuild of the orig triple SU carburetors, Bell stainless exhaust, from the manifolds back, interior bright-work, complete body rubbers, etc, etc, etc. the list goes on and on. Last year, I had new correct Dayton wheels installed from XKs Unlimited that have less than an estimated 500 miles total on them. The redline tireshave verylow mileage and are in nearnew condition. There is afaint vibration at 60mph that I credit toa wheelperhaps requiring a rebalance.I gifted the wheels that I had removed from the carto a friend, but I do havethe originalset thatwould come with the car if someone wants them too. Cosmetically, they are tired, but they do have four tires that hold air. The car is functional, currently registered and inspected through the end of July. It can be driven without excuses, but it's by no meansnot perfect. There are minor things to tend to that I simply haven't gotten aroundto yet, such as some such as the speedometer being inoperable and so on.The rest of the gauges are working correctly. The heaterfanwas out of the carwhen Ibought it and I never did get around to installing it. I believe I have a newreplacement, but I'm not positive yet.The rear bumper over riders were misplaced by the plating shop. Ibought a factory pair to of originals thataccompany the car, but they will require plating yet. The engine is reliable, with good oil pressure but does smoke a bit. I don't believe any major work had been performed on the engine. Being a 50+ year old British sports car, of course it leaks a bit of engine oil as well, but not excessively. I'd consider the car overalla goodstrong, quality driver. Not perfect, but an exceptional value if you take into account the cost of buying a numbers matching wreck and then calculating the cost of the restoration of a Jaguar. The car goes down the road well, and the ride ispretty tight. The gearbox and rear-end are quiet and healthy. Although the beautifully executed paint work is not an original Jaguar shade, It presents very well and gets lots of favorable comments. As per the Heritage Report, the car was born in "Cream" (Old English-white) paint. This is a car that definitely would benefit from being enjoyed more, but could be tinkered with here and there, like most for someone with mid-level mechanical abilities.I'm happy to field questions or offer my phone number to anyone who wishes to discuss the car further.Interested parties are also welcometoview in person. I do have a lift available to help better assess the car, at my home in upstate NY, about two hoursnorth ofNYC. New York is a transferable registration/bill of sale only state. Vehicle manufactured prior to 1973 are not issued titles. The NYS transferable registration is in my name and ready to be signed over to the next owner. I do reserve the right toremove the listing, as I do have the car listedlocally. Iwill entertain reasonable offers. I will require a PayPal deposit within 48 hours from the winning bidder that should be considered NON-REFUNDABLE, with a balance due within seven days, unless we agree upon different terms prior to the end of the auction . Thanks for reading, Rick
