Jaguar XJS . Gorgeous, straight, solid sexy 86 Jag XJS Coupe PROJECT, Windsor Blue with tan leather seats. An affordable head turning alternative to a muscle car. Guys driving by always look when she's out in the driveway. Looks like it's doing 80mph just sitting there. I did the V12 to V8 conversion 10 to 12 years ago after the car had an underhood fire. All of the basic work is done and it runs and drives but needs lots of work. The worst part is the wiring. Some things work, like the headlights, wipers and radio. Other things do not work including signal lights. Some fixes may be simple, or not, as I never trouble shot. Every circuit needs to be checked. If the battery (included) is left hooked up it will go dead so there is a draw on some circuit. It needs to be disconnected when sitting. The engine is a stock Chevy 305 w/quadrajet out of an 84 Pontiac Parisienne wagon with 89k miles. The engine and 700R4 transmission were installed using a JTR (Jags That Run) kit. Transmission had new filter and front/rear seals 10 years ago but does have a slight leak from somewhere. Engine has new timing chain and water pump but may smoke. I don't think it's anything serious like rings. I put the stock valve cover on driver's side because the M/T had no PVC baffle and caused it to burn oil. The alternator is stock Chevy and does charge the battery. Radiator is Chevy two- core. Cooling system was temporary and I did get an electric fan but never installed.Exhaust system was custom bent by a professional, using the original Jag mufflers and tailpipes but no cats. Tires are about 15 years old, dry rotted and cause the car to have a lumpy ride when driven.Interior is very good. It has a Jaguar AM/FM Cassette stereo, and optional phone. The headliner was sagging so was removed. There is one small crack in the dask pad and some slight cracking to the wood grain in the dash. The speedometer works, but not the odometer. (50k miles). The tach still needs a resistor to convert from 12 cylinder to 8. Covered in the manual. Two manuals included: The JTR conversion manual and also a $100 Jaguar service manual.Underneath the car is all undercoat. No known rot and the worst of the rust is shown in one of the pictures. This is surface rust and no rot. Car has never seen snow that I am aware of. The trunk is all solid. Just a rushed picture.Chrome is very good condition with no rust pits.The car spends most of the year in the driveway under a Cover-It garage. I take it up and down the road a couple times a year to keep the brakes from freezing on the rotors. Since the car sits so much the brakes will need attention too. And the car will need cleaning up. The engine compartment looks dirty but it was repainted the factory color with POR - 15 used underneath. I never registered the car, but I do have the Connecticut title in the previous owner's name. All service records and CARFAX (from when I bought) included.With a moderate amount of work and money this project can be finished and it will turn heads with the best of the muscle cars. I'm only selling because I am 64 and lost my passion and ambition. Car purchase must be paid for within a week and the payment must clear before the car leaves the yard.
