Description of 1983 Jeep CJ Renegade

1983 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade. Olympic White with Nutmeg interior. I am the third owner of this. It has 63K original miles. It was purchased new by a person who has a summer shore house. It was only used in the summers. It has been on the beach. It was parked in the garage at the shore house for the winter when the owner went back home. It was sold in 2010 to the second owner who was going to restore it with his son but his son did not really want it. I have owned if for the past 5 years. It runs and drives good. I put new brakes and lines on the front and a new fuel pump on it when I purchased it. I am a Jeep collector and have several immaculate ones. I have purchased several Jeeps to restore over the past few years and need to make some room so I am selling a few. This was one of the ones I purchased to restore.

The body is very solid with only rot on the driver side and passenger side frontfloor. It is also rotted on the driver side seatbelt floor bolt area. The passenger side fender has some rust in the one spot. The frame is solid but the whole undercarriage has surface rust and scaling. It has the original paint and stripes but there is some overspray and surface rust on the hood. The hardtop was mostly kept off the Jeep and in the garage and it shows. The rear hatch and hinges are in excellent condition with no rust. The interior is extremely original. It has a fixed rear seat. The dash is uncut but does have a aftermarket period correct radio in it. The dash pad is not cracked. It is a 6cyl with T-4 4 speed transmission. It has power steering and manual brakes. The rear is a open rear with 2.72 ratio. It has the big 20 gallon plastic gas tank. The doors are in excellent shape with no rot. The front passenger side tire did not hold air when I got it so that is why there is the chrome wheel on it. I have the 5th white wheel to go with the Jeep. The wheels were spray painted white at one time. Has the original jack in it. It has the factory side steps. It needs a carb rebuild. It has the original carter on it and sometimes needs a little starting fluid to get it going. It also needs a exhaust. It has a full exhaust but is needs to be replaced.

Vehicle is for pickup only. It would probably be best to trailer it rather then drive it long distances at this time.
