Description of 1979 Jeep CJ-5 Renegade

Original 1979 Jeep CJ5 Renegade originally from California. This Jeep has been completely restored by a well known Vintage Jeep Restorer in Minnesota. Frame off, body off restoration. Too many details to list. Including sand down to bare metal respray, new graphics, engine completely rebuilt to stock specifications, all number matching. Interior all new, Best top new. Drives wonderful! Ready to drive and enjoy.
Details from the Restoration Shop in Minnesota:

The rear axle received new seals, gaskets and fresh oil. The front axle was completely disassembled, new inner axle seals, axle u-joints, other seals/gaskets installed and bearings repacked. The radiator, brakes, spring bushings, and shocks were recently replaced sothey were reused. The transmission/transfer case both operated fine, although covers were removed for inspection and input/output seals and gaskets were replaced. The clutch was replaced and flywheel surfaced. The engine was starting to show signs of needing a valve job. Removing the heads did show a ridge in the cylinders so the engine was completely rebuilt. It was bored +.030" with new pistons, reground crank, new bearings, RV cam, timing set, oil pump, and rebuilt heads. The carb and ignition are restored original style, however the previous owners removed the emission controls. I do have the AIR pump but the exhaust manifold tubes were bad so I removed it also and plugged the exhaust manifold fittings. The exhaust is pretty much original style single outlet with catalytic converter and Flowmaster muffler.

The wiring harness was completelyinspected for damage/ imperfections. New turn signal/steering harness installed. The heater core was replaced. New defrost ducts and premium HVAC control cables installed. New oil pressure and volt gauges. New seats. New soft-top. The radio does not work and is only a placeholder.

The restored rolling chassis was media blasted and painted with black gloss urethane. The engine, transmission and transfer case were painted with “Chrysler green” engine enamel. The windshield frame is new-there actually was some rust in the frame base. The front fenders were replaced. There were some dings and new fenders were cheaper than bodywork. The original tub, grill and other minor body parts were all media blasted and repainted the original shade of Morocco Tan with a single stage urethane. For protection of the original metal the underside of the tub was coated with black bedliner and the floor of the interior was coated with color matched bedliner. Reproduction, original style graphics were reinstalled. The dash was left as original-mostly to retain the original VIN sticker but, also to retain some of the vehicle character. The emission sticker on top ofthe radiator core support was also saved. The wheels are original, un-restored with excellent rubber. The seat belts are un-restored originals. There’s other details to numerous to mention without actually going thru receipts, hardware doodads, rubber bumpers, etc, etc.
