Description of 1972 Jeep Commando

1972 Jeep Commando. 4x4. 258 Straight Six. 3 Speed Manual. 3. 73 Gears. Dana Axles. Manual Brakes. Power Steering. Runs and Drives. Not rusted out. Floors have been replaced. professionally done. not a patch job. Once again. the entire floor has been replaced. Frame is perfect. Doors and tailgate could use some attention. but they are not bad. and you get two sets of doors and two tailgates to work with. Modifications:2 Inch Body Lift1 Inch Spring lift. added leaves and long rear shacklesRocker Panels Removed and Replaced with 2x4 Steel Tubing. LED Tail lights. Bestop Soft Top. Wrangler Roll Bar with Shoulder Seat Belts (I wouldn't trust it. bad welds. but it is there)Trailer HitchFront Disc Brakes from CJHeavy Duty Tie Rods32" Cooper STT Tires Like NEWFenders cut and Wrangler Flares installedFront Seats from MazdaStreet Rod Heater (actually defrosts windows)Doors removable (Hinge pins drilled and replaced with bolts)Pertronix Electronic Ignition. (No Points)New Parts Installed:Power Steering Gear BoxClutchWater PumpFront BrakesFront Ball Joints. Tie Rods. Bearings. Oil PumpExtra Parts:Hubs. Doors. Tail gate. Hard Top. Dash. Instrument Cluster. various brake parts. bumper. CJ Hood and Grille (if you want). Orange Paint. Hatch for hard top. stock steering knuckles. The Bad:Lifter noise occasionally at idle. Goes away when driving. or with a quick rev of the engine. Hard to start below 30 deg F. This is not a show Jeep. It is not pretty or perfect. It is more than 40 years old. It has its dings and scratches. Drips oil. but I would be concerned if a Jeep didn't. Very basic interior. No Carpet. It runs. 4x4 works. It is not rusted out. I have driven it on 300 mile round trips without issue. Cruises nicely at 60 mph. Gets about 12-14 mpg. Don't expect this to drive like a Cherokee or newer Jeep. Old Jeeps are noisy. aren't easy to drive. don't handle the best. and uncomfortable. If you haven't experienced a classic Jeep. they really are NOT meant to cruise the interstate at 70 mph. This vehicle is truly for experienced drivers. I will not ship. I can help deliver within 50 miles of Warren. PA for cost of fuel. after the sale and transfer is complete. I recommend you contact me and inspect the Jeep in person before bidding. (Last pic shows tail lights. Rack not included. It is also a pic with smaller tires. It has 32x11. 50x15 now)Make me an Offer. No Trades.
