You are looking at a 1982 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler pickup with a 5-speed manual, overdrive transmission. The top and doors come off for convertible driving fun, and the windshield flips forward. Also, aftermarket full-length SUV style hardtops and an assortment of soft tops and doors are available for these vehicles. It runs and drives fairly well, but could use a little tinkering to be 100% road worthy. I've driven it around my neighborhood and the engine runs strong with lots of power, transmission and clutch shift very smoothly, no extra noises. 4-wheel-drive works in high and low ranges with front lock-outs on the hubs for free-wheeling. I rebuilt the carburetor, and installed a brand new fuel-pump in the past month. Also a newer battery, and some of the vacuum lines were replaced recently. Tires are mismatched brands, and old, so they could stand to be replaced, but aren't in too bad of shape. Brakes work, but the brake-light is on on the dash, so I think there's a rear line that's burst or a wheel-cylinder leaking somewhere. Also, power-steering reservoir has a leak, so you have to top off the power-steering fluid periodically. No other major leaks. Coolant looks good, as well as all the other fluids. The frame is solid, and outer body looks exceptional, but there is a rusted out area in the floor-pan inside the cab behind the seats. Also, the pickup-bed floor had some holes, so I screwed in a solid piece of fairly-thick steel to beef it up and sprayed everything with bedliner material so it's all uniform. The vehicle was re-painted probably 10 years ago, and it's a base-clear eurethane high-quality automotive paint-job. Still looks really good, and no major dings & it's not scratched up. This was an original blue truck. High and Low-beam headlights and turn-signals work, including reverse lights, but one front parking-light is burned out. Minor rips on driver's seat, and perhaps 1 crack on the dash-pad, but overall the interior is in good shape. These vehicles are getting harder to find, and were fairly rare to begin with. I believe Jeep only produced around 30,000 total Scramblers from 1981 through 1986. Other than the Comanche which ceased in the '80s, Jeep hasn't offered a single pickup-truck model since the Scrambler went out of production, but I hear the Wrangler for the 2018 model year is supposed to feature a pickup again finally, and they're even considering the Scrambler name for it!
