This truck that was owned by an 82 year old used it for travelling the deserts in Baja California. It has a professionally built 5.9L 360 4V V8 a full roll cage with Deist racing harness and a 54-gallon fuel tank was made to get in and to get out This truck has spent most ofits life in the San Diego area. The owner who many years ago worked on race cars and wanted this truck to be the perfect Baja California cruiser. The original Jeep 360 was professionally built by a company in Encinitas California to what I was told was $13k. He recalled it had a special 3/4 cam, Edelebrock aluminum manifold, 4 barrel with special Ceramic headers and special exhaust system. The original Heavy-Duty GM truck TH400 was also rebuilt. The truck has heavy duty front and rear Dana 44 axles. The original front drums were replaced with disc brakes it also has very nice BF Good rich Mud Terrain radial tires. This truck is a very solid California survivor, the body looks to be free of previouscollisiondamage and drives down the road as it should, the under carriageis very solid at the cab mounts and floors on both the cab and the bed, it does have some paint bubbles on the seams of the bed the floors look very solid from the dry desert. This truck has been owned by the same family for many decades, at one point it was stolen, and the family bought it back, it was a theft recovery and since then has a Salvage title The Jeep Gladiator, Jeep Pickup or J-series full size pickups are based on the full-size Jeep SJ Wagoneer platform, built under numerous marques from 1962 to 1988. The Jeep Gladiator/Pickup design is noteworthy for remaining in production for more than 26 years on a single automobile platform generation. The Gladiator was the basis for the first post-war U.S. Army trucks designed to be civilian vehicles and adapted to military use. The Gladiator name was dropped in 1971, after which the line was known simply as the Jeep pickup, or J-series. The pickups were designated as J2000 and J4000 models. The long wheel base J4000 was dropped after 1973. From 1974 to 1988 they only made the J10 and J20 models This is a very solid and unique 46-year-old California survivor, you would be hard pressed to duplicate such a unique California survivor. I have tried to describe the truck the best I can with as many details as possible. I have included several detailed photos of everything I can think of. Please remember this is a 46-year-old 4x4 truck if there are any additional questions, clarifications or photos needed please ask me and I will respond ASAP.
