VIN: 1JTCM25N5CT033451 I’m often asked where we find these clean, vintage vehicles. A good friend keeps a sharp eye as he cruises parking lots of retirement homes, Elks clubs, our V.F.W. Hall and the small-town back streets of rural areas here near Seattle. He can spot a seatbelt slammed in a door a mile away… He’ll notice when a nice old car or truck is driving with a turn signal left on just a little too long and he positively twitches with glee when a vehicle with metal bumpers passes by! Occasionally, we’ll get really lucky and find one sitting right there under our noses. This nice half-ton 4WD Pickup has been owned and driven on the Olympic Peninsula almost from new by a Port Angeles couple. A fellow (who’d seen several of my past Ebay Jeep listings) contacted me after his recently widowed neighbor asked for help finding the J10’s next caretaker. Her late husband purchased it almost four decades ago. Look over the AutoCheck report attached here to the auction listing. You'll be as impressed as I was. From what we’ve been told, it's spent the past thirty-eight years here in the Great Pacific Northwest driving our salt-free Washington roads. We’ve found NO evidence of any major accidents, storm damage, insurance salvage, theft recovery or any other nasty negatives to cause you concern as the next caretaker. After the truck arrived at my warehouse, our mechanic looked it over. We did a complete tune-up and filter change, replaced the alternator and installed a new aluminum radiator, thermostat & water pump. Records that came with the title show the clutch was done less than 5,000 miles ago. All the posted photos you see were taken on 08/22/2020 outside my shop. I take pride in our vehicles and feel that you should know as much about them as possible. Accordingly, here’s a list of the positives and also any small things still needing attention: The overall exterior is in great condition. The rig wears dark copper metallic paint, resprayed to the factory original color. It looks great with absolutely no scratches or frontend rock chips. Rust? Well, this classic Jeep HATES rust and you’ll be hard pressed to find anything here to worry about! Because we rarely get snow west of the Cascades, our winter roads are never salted. Climb over, under and throughout - I know you’ll come up smiling! As the last two photos show, there is only surface rust to the underside components and now-sealed bed, but we haven’t found anything in the body itself. One turn of the key and the strong 258 CID gasoline inline six-cylinder fires right up every time. We’ll include a receipt for a Midas Muffler replacement done at just under 110K miles, but I’m hearing an exhaust leak from the manifold that gives the drivetrain a throaty hotrod sound when accelerating The four-speed manual transmission shifts smoothly, just like it should, with NO clutch slippage. I engaged the manual 4x4 system to test it but have not driven off-road. Of course, there’s power steering. The brakes stop the rig just fine. All four of the Toyo 235/75R15 “Open Country†tires have at least 90% remaining tread. This truck really is fun to drive, has good power and should take you anywhere you’d wish to go. Please take another look at the interior pics. That bench seat upholstery is factory original and in remarkable condition. Same goes for the rubber floorcovering. We didn’t do more than wipe them down when the truck arrived. All the glass is great with the exception of a hardly-noticable bulls-eye chip. Both windows roll open and close properly. A nice Sony Stereo replaced the original radio, though the speakers are likely shot and there’s no sound. Though unlocked,the glove compartment door wouldn't open. A new water temp sensor is needed as the dash gauge needle reads inaccurately as soon as the key’s turned on.There's a (likely) valve cover oil leak dripping to the manifold. The dome light cover's missing.That’s about it! If you’re thinking of bidding on a comparable Chevy, Ford or Ram of similar vintage, you really owe it to yourself to look over and drive this rare Jeep first! While the Jeep is a nice truck and could likely handle a long-distance drive, it’s 38 years old and has earned the right to do short sprints instead of a full-blown marathon. Shipping usually equals (or is cheaper) when all the ancillary costs are added in – and no flat tires to deal with in the middle of nowhere with shipping! I have access to the nationwide Central Dispatch System and can post the transport for a specified amount after checking typical costs to the buyer's location. Usually we'll have a company lined up within a few days. You would then pay the transporter COD when they arrive with the vehicle. No upfront deposit or other hassles. The entire purchase price is due by cash (in-person only), a wire transfer or other certified funds within seven days of the auction closing. I can accept credit/debit cards but will need to first send an invoice from our card processor and ask that the 3.25% fee charged by them be added.
