Description of 1971 Jeep CJ |
So this was a impulse buy. it's a 1971 Jeep DJ let me start by saying that it looks better IN THE PHOTOS THEN IT WILL WHEN YOU SEE IT. It's a 10 footer for sure but at sometime someone put a lot of work in this little jeep and it starts first time everytime I think it has a 258 straight 6 but that could be wrong I really don't know anything about DJ'S. that being said I have had 6 CJ'S over the years and loved those. so here is what I know for sure. It has a 3 speed Automatic trans that will not engage forward gears I tried to adjust the band's or whatever and while jacked up the wheels move forward but once on the ground it barely moves if at all. Reverse works great no problem there but again no forward movement. Soooooo???? It will need towed home and expect some transmission work. the last owner swapped the alternator over to a 1 wire set up but never finished the job I ran some temporary wires over to the battery and it works fine to get it started and move it around but if it was me I would put the right one on it . brakes work as do all the doors but they need seals and the rear tires are wide so the doors are not in the bottom track to clear the tires. Frame is in good shape and the floor boards are solid all in all this could be stripped down and used as parts or you could fix the trans and drive it has good paperwork! ! No reserve really is cool looking Jeep could be epic little driver!!!!! I will help you load it on a trailer if you want to back it on that's no problem at all and would be the easiest way to do it. Also feel free to call me with questions There is no buy it now and will sell to the highest bidder and I will not end the auction early unless someone wants to pay me way to much $$$ and that's just dumb bid to win . 513-722-602one before 11pm est Justin |
