Description of 1985 Land Rover Defender 130

This is a unique Land Rover purpose built for the African Safari market and hasmany interesting features;

Features include driver plus 10 passenger seats; reclining seats with lap safety belts; "stadium" seating; widened body (note: chassis frame is standard and body extensions do not exceed standard vehicle with wheel arch spats/eyebrows); brass door reveals and brass-work on rear; high roof line; removable canvas weather panels for sides; running on 315/85R16 BFG tyres; separate rear luggage store; unique double fold front screens for uninterrupted views; 220mm teak t/g floorboards; removable seat rows; 220mm teak superstructure (a little heavy but very robust - has repelled Rhinoskirmish and Toyota Corolla without a scratch!);galvanised chassis; a fantastic touring truck.

Mileage: The odometer was replaced recently so the recorded mileage is NOT correct. Original odometer recorded approx. 260 000 MILES (ex-UK) and the replacement odometer shows35519 KM. More pictures available.

History: Vehicle original owner was East Midlands Electricity in UK. Vehicle purchased by current owners direct from EME in 1995. Extensive body-off rebuild at that time which is when the chassis was galvanised. Vehicle exported to Botswana in 2006 where the current conversion was completed and where the vehicle has been in service ever since.
