Description of 1985 Land Rover Defender 110 |
G'day, I have amassed a fair few of these over the years and it's time to thin the herd. I have put my heart, soul, piggybank and countless hours in all types of weather practically doing a frame-on restoration on this landy. I have owned it for a fair amount of years whilst in Australia and am the second owner. I brought this and a few other landy's over when I moved to the US in 2014. It, and others, have been processed and titled properly and correctly. VIN:SALLDHMV1BA230695 Give the arid Aussie climate, this rig had little to no surface rust on the chassis. This is in contrast to most landy's from europe that are flea-bitten with rust. The typical problem areas such as the foot wells, bulkhead ears or corners and the rear cross members were left untouched. The door frames were replaced with YRM replacement channels. Additionally, a Holley conversion was completed. The truck has rear MAXI drive axles and is equipped with a LT85 gearbox mated to a powerful 3.5 V8 that gives it substantial torque. On the highway, its no Ferrari but no corolla either. Recent compression test on engine shows good compression in all cylinders. With care, this should continue. Iapologize for the crappy pictures; photography is not my forte i.e. the pictures don't do this landy justice. ADDITIONAL PICTURES CAN BE PROVIDED IN A LINK AS WELL AS VIDEO OF ENGINE RUNNING AT IDLE. I have ensured most bits and bobs have been replaced; a close attention to detail will confirm this. While not perfect, it comes very close. Mind you, it is a ~30 year old car. It has a few marks of character. You would be hard pressed to find a car in comparable condition/shape given its age, price not withstanding. I am happy to help arrange shipping/transport at your cost; the transporter I use bills ~ USD 0.50/mi. My zip code is 21231. I am happy to field any question's. While I don't plan to disclose my reserve price, I do expect you take into consideration the effort put into this affair. As one wise man said, there's a landy for everyone!
