Description of 1989 Land Rover Defender |
Here we have a 1989 Classic Land Rover Defender 200tdi 110 HI-CAP Pick Up Full Ground Up Restoration. It was first registered: 07/07/1989. This vehicle was previously owned by a Manchester police sergeant for 2 1/2 years. It originally had a different body on the back. It had bespoke flat bed body made by the previous owner. Please don’t confuse this with other farmyard Land Rovers that have been used as chicken hutches. You could ignore the year with the condition and what has been done to it. It has been updated with a 2008 Land Rover Defender rust free doors and Puma bonnet. The A - bar and rear bumper section actually came off her majesty the queen’s own Land Rover and was shown the original registration document from the donor vehicle; “HM Balmoral.” The bespoke body was taken off and replaced with a hi-cap 110 pick up body, that came off a 2004 Defender. Whilst the body was off we cleaned all the chassis, painted it with red oxide primer and black paint. The rear cross member was replaced at the same time. An engineer was employed to re-create the rear bumper / step to finish the rear end off. The chassis is fantastic condition; not a patchwork quilt as usually found. The windscreen was replaced for a brand new top tinted screen with a new rubber. In fact, every rubber on this vehicle has been replaced including the front vent seals. It starts first time, every time. An iFor Williams Aluminium canopy was fitted to this, which is rare to find; even rarer to find with a solid top iFor Williams rear door. It’s had a full expensive respray at a specialist paint shop. The seats were changed to a pair of SAAB leather adjustable seats. The whole lighting system: side lights, indicators, reverse, brake etc, have been changed to RDX LED lights with Wipac front LED lights. It was last serviced, including oils and filters, replaced top and bottom hoses, and return pipes at mileage 56,561. Here’s a list of what has been done during the rebuild: 1 freestyle alloys with nearly new tires 2 chequerplate kit 3 air con style A-BAR (hrh) 4 hella spots / wipac fog 5 puma bonnet 6 new windscreen with built in sunstrip (rare) 7 new rubber door seals, windscreen rubbers, vent strip rubbers replaced 8 large heavy duty battery 9 rdx LED front and rear light pack 10 new quadoptic headlamps with LED side lights 11 new front and rear mudflap kits 12 snorkel 13 wind deflectors 14 DRL front bumper with spot lights and end caps 15 twin horns 16 rear side wheel spats 17 rdx style grill and wing vents 18 anderson jump pack kit ( + includes jump leads ) 19 new electric fan 20 LED yellow recovery strobe lights front and rear 21 mountney leather steering wheel 22 leather seats ( ex saab ) 23 raptor dash with top dash leather roll top 24 headlining with LED interior lights 25 drop pin towing ball 26 bespoke rear bumper / step 27 new wipers and wiper arms 28 2 keys 29 new transit style side repeater marker lights 30 brand new rock sliders 31 new gas shocks and heavy duty springs 32 new indicator and wiper stalks 33 new see through water header tank 34 full expensive respray in white with black bonnet 35 full chequer plate floor in rear of tub 36 new heater matrix VIN: SALLDHAB7FA391359 You can find the full album of photos at: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmfsKb1h For a video of the vehicle in operation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIu7NgUCLGs The vehicle was imported from the UK.
