Matilda. 1978 RHD Land Rover Series 3 109" Wheelbase. Rare 12 passenger package. I know everyone says 'rare' but it's a rhd*ight hand drivein US - Rare.109" from 1978 - rarer still, and the 12 passenger wagon package was rare even in 1978 in England!! Project started with Engine overhaul. While the engine was out, I decided to replaced both footwells (included). That blossomed into a fairly large project...no worries though! That is until we sold my In-Laws house - and the garage with it!!! Had to install Engine (it's gorgeous!) and reassemble. That was October. Since then, we have moved house, and have been busy fixing up our old house for sale in May. So -- no time to work on Matilda. Now it's time to let her go. She's fully reassembled. She has not been started. Still registered and insured. Beside the new fittings on the engine, she has a new radiator and battery. She comes with a slew of new parts. Obviously, both footwells, Both front door tops (doors are still pretty good) Both frames for doors (not needed, but I was going to do them) Here''s the rare one ---both middle doors, new in box!! Also have window gasket kits. And many otherthings.BTW< All glass is good! I will also throw in the Green Book (Known as the Land Rover Bible) any and all books and receipts I have, specialty tools, and if the price goes well, even a Black "Lucas Electric" t-shirt!!!! Too small for me, but I had to buy it! I can't tell you how much fun this is to drive. People WILL look at you like you're crazy. You probably are. Obviously, you'll need mechanical and electrical skills (see--Lucas). You can weld in the footwells and have a great driver, or put all the parts in and look at a $60k beauty. Your call. Reserve is pretty low (well less than invested), but it's a secret so please don't ask. The only other Rover I saw even close in price was a beauty -- -- -- in Italy.. Loaded with Covid? The virus near Cyrus? If you are concerned about health and safety, I will say no human has touched Matilda in at least a month, so here's a rare statement : This Land Rover Series may be the safest car on the planet!! Haha!! I named her "Matilda" from how she'd waltz down the street. I don't believe it was ever in Australia. Strictly English. And yes, the rear plate comes with her. Her previous name was 'The Beast". She answers to both. Looking for a good home. No idea what the mileage is. Right now I'm 30 miles away from her, and I don't really know if she would tell us the truth anyway! Had to put something in, so I chose 75000miles. Happy Shopping Thanks for looking!!
