Description of 19930000 Lexus LS |
Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1993 Lexus LS400 with just 127k original miles. In the early 90's, he Lexus brand was fairly new and most of their vehicles were still first generation. Breaking into the luxury car market was something that Toyota took very seriously and they certainly weren't taking any chances. The LS and SC were the flagship sedan and coupe of the Lexus brand and ended up beind among the most over-built cars ever produced. The reputation Lexus earned in these early years is what made them successful. About this specific LS400, would rate the exterior of this sedan to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, his is a great looking car. It is finished in classic Lexus white over gray, hich is a shameless copy of Mercedes' full sized sedan of the time. As with any older vehicle, lease expect a few imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this specific vehicle, here is a scuff on the front bumper cover as well as a dent on the RF fender and a few light scrape marks down the ride side cladding. It looks as if this was all the result of one incident. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. The white finish shows well for its age and shines nicely. All of the cladding is present and firmly intact. The hood, oors and trunk all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The original alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with average tread all around. Again, lease take your time and check out each of the photos carefully as there is minor damage present on the exterior of this Lexus as mentioned earlier. I would rate the interior of this Lexus LS400 to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. Toyota's philosophy of overdoing everything for their debut flagship luxury car carries over into the interior. The door cards are clean and tight. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout the interior. The dash and headliner are clean. The leather seats are clean and comfortable throughout the interior and show very well. Both front seats are power operated and heated. The power windows, ocks, irrors, eats and sunroof all work properly. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. The heat works properly and the air conditioner will freeze you out of the car. The audio system is the original Lexus Premium Sound, hich sounds excellent. The trunk is spacious and clean. Pride in ownership shows throughout this Lexus. The only bad thing I can point out is that the instrument cluster seems to be a little glitchy. It worked fine for my road test. When I brought it in for photos, noticed that the tachometer wasn't working. I took it out for a quick spin and the speedometer wasn't working either. This is a common issue as these age and isn't hard to have rebuilt. There are places you can send the whold cluster out to. Mechanically, his LS400 appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.0L V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Again, exus really went over and above with this engine. These engines were originally developed by TRD to be used as race engines. The 4.0L V8 used by Lexus is a de-tuned version of the TRD race engine...which is probably why they last hundreds and hundreds of thousands of miles. The engine is a little clattery (sounds like a light top end tap) but nothing unusual for being 20+ years old. I've put the last 100+ miles on it plus let it idle forover an hour with no issues. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. The brakes and steering feel good, oo. At highway speeds, here is a vibration in the steering wheel. I'd have the alignment looked at sometime in the near future...or it may just befront brakes. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels strong. Again, 've put the last 100+ miles on this Lexus with no issues other than the aforementioned vibration. The only warning light on is the airbag light. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts perfectly with no issues. Shehas a current Virginia inspection good through the end of May, 016. If you're looking for a clean first gen LS400 that hasn't been all used up, his vehicle deserves yourserious consideration. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. |
